We have a parent who signed up their two children. They submitted two online youth applications. Unfortunately, they came across as “John Smith John Smith” (the name of the parent). So far no big deal, our council can fix that, so I accepted both applications. However the next day only one scout appeared on the roster. It seems that although there were two applications, the second application, while having a distinct Application ID, had the SAME member ID as the first one.
I bring this up here because it’s kind of a crazy edge case. Browser autofill can mess the name fields without the parent noticing…and then we have one scout application fall into a black hole…
Please check out applications 201893124 and 201893131, you’ll see they have identical member ids (even though DOB/grade is different)
Our council has been helping, I think we’ll need to refund the second application and submit again, but hopefully this can be prevented in the future.

I can’t see applications. What are the Scouting America Member IDs (no names) for the Scout?
Thanks Ed! Member Id is 141730447, so you should see one scout with that id on our roster and renamed, the mystery is what happened to the second scout (and/or how I can get the family a refund).
Those are probably “talk to council” questions, as they may be able to identify the transactions that occured sequentially (or they can contact national to assist), and try to work out what happened with the other scout’s registration.
Yes, agreed I’ve been working on it with our Council all this past week. I’m posting it here in the hopes that a) this is marked down as a bug and b) accidentally adding the same name twice under a parent account is added as a test case by the QA team to check in their future testing.
Since it is a my.scouting.org issue your Council will need to open a ticket with Member Care. The my.scouting.org team will not accept bug reports from the SUAC or via the forums. They must be submitted by Councils.
