Youth turned adult - cannot send email in scoutbook

I have tried everything I can think of to get our venturing crew president - now 19 to be able to send emails via scoutbook. His account used to be a minor and now is an adult.

Green Mountain Council - 0592
RS - 126929149 and SB ID 7364311

He is also an Asst Scoutmaster in another Troop.

What needs to be done to allow him to send emails thru Scoutbook

Thank you

@WilliamKett how are they trying to send emails - even 12 year old scouts can I believe

@DonovanMcNeil - if I log into scoutbook with my son’s account only the leaders show up. No scouts or parents are listed in send message. He is 19 as well.

My guess would be the IsAdult=Yes - and Lack of Connections - for my Scout under 18 - he sees All Adults, Parents, Scouts (with accounts) in Troop and Crew

@DonovanMcNeil - that makes sense as he see the roster as firstname last initial and there is no way to make any connections that I have seen.

He goes to use email the same way I do.

But technically he is not an adult by scout standards and is still a youth. The other thing I can think of is maybe he never got this from his parent when he was a youth where the parent approved them to have an email / receive etc. Sadly though that parent is deceased who is tied to his account. Any other thoughts?

He’s sorta both. He’s a Venturing Participant, i.e. Venturer [18-21), but he’s also a registered scouter (ASM) in another unit. Both “roles” are considered adults from the perspective of requiring YPT, and one is considered a registered scouter.

Out of curiosity, can you as Crew Advisor assign a scouter role in the crew (e.g. Associate Advisor) to the venturer to see if you can assign connections that way? It seems highly clunky that Scoutbook still hasn’t worked this part out yet…
