Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have an adult leader who appears to have 2 MIDs, and it looks like the older ID is currently connected to his son, so when he logs in with the newer ID it says he’s not connected. Here are the IDs (with the names removed to protect the innocent )
Scout - 14286247
older parent ID - 136760967
newer parent ID - 14362729
The weird thing is that when I click the relationship hyperlink on the Scout record (showing the 136…ID) it takes me to the record for the newer ID (the 143…ID). Can you either merge these records, or update the connection to the correct, newer ID?
@JonathanHotz the user can log into my.scouting.org > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > as long as the info is the same then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY
On the Relationship - either the council can fix it or a Unit Key3 can add it in SB+
@JonathanHotz The user’s parent / child Relationships are pretty messed up, so the local council probably needs to help fix them.
Please ask the local council to use their Registrar Tools to look up his child (or children). In the “Relationships” tab / section, he needs to be listed as parent only under his primary member ID number: 14362729. They need to remove him if he is listed as parent under any other ID numbers.
Ok, thank you both. I’ll pass this along to our Council and the adult leader. I’m the Scoutmaster, so I can add the connection to his newer ID, but I need to get his DOB. I’ll still have our Council go in and make sure he’s connected properly.
@LesBarta I have merged the parent’s Scoutbook accounts.
But he also has 2 usernames (logins). Does he want to keep the one that has sign in with Google turned on?
Also, the local council will need to use their Registrar Tools to look up the Scout. In the “Relationships” tab / section, they should remove the parent under the parent’s secondary member ID number, the one that ends with -311.
