I have a new Scout (141899937) in my Pack and am unable to connect her parents. When I search for her parent their name I get a message that says “This person was found, but does not have a Scoutbook account with the specified Member ID. To avoid creating multiple accounts, if you believe the person has an existing Scoutbook account, click Cancel to try searching using a different Member ID. If you are sure the person does not have a Scoutbook account, then click OK.” After I click OK and try to send them an invitation I get a message that says “User cannot be selected because he/she does not have an account in Scoutbook..” I am not able to create a new account for them.
@PatrickEgan a grandmother (Vickie) is in Relationship - is that the same one you are trying to connect?
Are you trying to do this in Legacy Scoutbook or via the + next to Relationships on the Scout’s page in Scoutbook Plus? Only the latter should be used.
Yes, that is who I am trying to get connected and logged into their Scoutbook account. I misspoke about her being her parent.
VIckie is unable to log into Scoutbook and doesnt have access to the email account that is connected to her old scoutbood account.
Thanks, I was in the legacy Scoutbook. Working half in the old and half in the new gets confusing.
As long as the adult has a relationship listed in Scoutbook Plus, they are good to go. Later this year Scoutbook connections will be completely replaced by relationships.
Vickie is unable to log into her SB account. She has an old account from when her sons were in Scouts but doesnt have access to the email address that is attached to it.
She can try the bot at my.scouting.org to reset the password. If that doesn’t work, she can contact the Council and they can reset the password for her.
@PatrickEgan She should ask the local council to reset her password at my.Scouting. Then she can log in and update her e-mail there.
