Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have a Den Leader that also serves on our Committee and am trying to make her a Pack Admin in Scoutbook as she is our lead on adding events to our Pack calendar. On her page in legacy Scoutbook, the Add Leader button is missing. We thought it might because her registration was within 30 days of expiring, but she has now renewed, my.scouting shows her as currently registered as a Den Leader. In Scoutbook (legacy) she shows to be a Committee Member, Den Leader, Den admin. As this is the time of the year when we are adding new members, leaders and events we really can use your help in advising how to make her a Pack Admin. Thanks! Bob .
Is the Den Leader registered as a Den Leader but is actually a Tiger Den Leader or Webelos Den Leader in Scoutbook? The Den Leader registration must match the position in Scoutbook. If the Den Leader’s position in my.scouting.org does not match Scoutbook, have your COR or COR Delegate change the registration to the correct position by logging in to my.scouting.org and going to Roster → Position Manager. You may have to wait until the next sync (4:00 PM Central and overnight) to see the button appear in Scoutbook.
Hi Ed,
My my.scouting she is registered as a generic Den Leader and in Scoutbook as the Lions Den Leader/Lions Den Admin/Committee Member. I don’t see a specific position for Lions Den Leader.
Ed - I ended her Committee position and she now shows only Den Leader and Den Admin in Scoutbook (legacy). I then cleared my Chrome cache, closed browser, re-started Scoutbook (legacy) and the add position button still did not appear for this one leader. (Side note: Other leaders registered as Den Leaders all have the add position button.) Thanks! Bob
Try removing the end date from the Den Leader position that is not associated with a den. After you save the position without a den association, go back in and approve the position and save.
I tried to do that, but the system would not let me save the former Den Leader position without selecting a Den which, when done, created a duplicate Den Leader position (for the same Den). I tried this with several different positions, none produced the Add position button.
What do you think about having a Key 3 move her back to committee member position in My.Scouting, restore her committee position in Scoutbook (legacy) and seeing if it pops up and would allow me to put her back in a den. As of now, the only way I can put her in a position is only for former positions and only by ending the end date.
Ed - yes, our goal is to make her a Pack Admin. If you can do that it will be greatly appreciated. I have her ID numbers to Donovan earlier. I suspect there is a system bug here somewhere - hopefully some of the info might help developers run it down when they get to it. Thanks again,Bob
Thanks for working the issue with the SUAC. Users like yourself, reporting, then going trough troubleshooting (which can seem painful), and allowing the SUAC to clearly define the big, will drive true fixes. Thank you for your time and it will help us all!
