Adult Tenure for Service Stars

I want to give out Service Stars to acknowledge the volunteers who give so much for our unit. I cannot find a report like we used to have that shows the history of the leader, with what position they were in. Does such a report exist in the new Scoutbook Plus? How can I find out the anniversary of when an adult first volunteered?

Tenure Stars are really an award individual users should self track - as no one unit or council would have all the information.

SB+ is only about current registrations.

You can get the registration history by using the Unit Advancement Details report at my.Scouting, but it is an individual report, so you would have to go one by one. It does include registrations from other units, but only in your council.

Thank you! This works for what I need.

I was curious about this one too. My troop does seem to give these out and some adults with whom I came in got their 1 year star and I didn’t. I didn’t want to be “that guy” worried about his adult uniform decorations, it was more about just being curious how they were processed/determined.

It’s a unit-by-unit thing. Some units do it, some don’t. Each one that does it handles it somewhat differently. There is, unfortunately, not a great way to do it, since service stars for scouters (unless they’ve changed recently) can be either just as a scouter (i.e. separate stars for service as a scouter and time in each program as a youth), or as a combination of all scouting time (scout + scouter) on one star. Either way, if you’ve ever been registered with more than one unit or in more than one council, it can be very challenging for anyone but the scout/scouter to know all of the relevant dates.

And only info from about 1998 going forward is in My.Scouting. Registration for Scouters who were leaders prior to that time or if using the combined years of youth and adults who were Scouts before then would not show in the system.
