Advancement Chair, not linked to scouts

I’m struggling to get access to the scouts in our troop. I read about the trick to click on my name in the troop roster in order to update my designation as advancement chair. Trouble is, I can’t click my name. Nothing happens.
I have a COH coming up and I can’t access anything. Any suggestions?

Are you a Troop Admin in Scoutbook?

I am the troop advancement chair, but not specifically an admin.

Get one of the troop admins to add the troop admin position or give you at least edit advancement control of all scouts.

@AdamMittino - are you in scoutbook.com or scoutbook.scouting.org ?

Both, as far as I know. No doubt, I am in scoutbook.

@AdamMittino - first thing, use one or the other but not both. If you are in scoutbook can you look at your positions there?

I am designated as “advancement chair” in scoutbook.

Another question: which system do you recommend I use? Our troop has been using the scouting.org advancement, but the latest group of scouts to cross-over this past May ( as well as any future Webelos from our affiliated Cub pack) are exclusively on scoutbook. I understand that it’s “one system or the other” but which do I use?

@AdamMittino - the link in scoutbook for IA states if you use scoutbook, do not use IA. I know if I execute transfer apps from the pack to the troop they show up in my.scouting and scoutbook and IA as soon as the sync runs. I would gladly set up a screen share to look through your issues. Please feel free to email me shornak@bloomberg.net

@AdamMittino So you are able to access Internet Advancement as Unit Advancement Chair? If so, then I would expect you to be a Troop Admin in Scoutbook.

For your Scouts that crossed over in May, are you saying that they are not showing up on your troop roster in Internet Advancement? If that’s the case, then something happened with their transfer paperwork. First, have someone (Key 3 or Key 3 Delegate) check the troop roster at my.scouting.org (my.Scouting Tools) and see if they are on the Member Manager roster there. If they are not on the Member Manager roster, then something has happened and those Scouts were not properly transferred from the pack to the troop. The person who handles membership applications for your troop should check with your council to get their transfers fixed.
