App not showing any data on kids/scouts

For the past month or more the SB app shows my kids but under Adventures shows nothing. I’ve logged off and back in. Deleted the app and reinstalled and always the same. It has an error message always that says “Unable to fetch”.

I don’t know if the app has been updated for the new (2024) Cub Scout adventures. When you login at advancements.scouting.org, can you see the adventures there? If not, it’s also possible your scout isn’t assigned to a den, which is necessary for both systems to to serve the advancement requirements (i.e. serves adventures based on what den level the scout is assigned to).

Original post here. To answer the question, yes, it works fine in a browser and it’s only the iPhone app that stopped working. I don’t use Android so I can’t speak to it.

@DavidMorris4 is it not working for either scout? or just BM or WM?

Probably would need a screenshot of the adventure screen to understand @DavidMorris4

Not working for either

@DavidMorris4 I kind of thin your Scout is on the Wrong version of rank - I can do a screenshare for computer to take a look if you want

No. Both are the correct ranks. And both were working fine in the app several months ago. And both work fine when using a browser.

@DavidMorris4 - what is the version of the rank ? is it 2024 or prior version ?

I don’t know that you can see or adjust the rank version (i.e. which revision of Webelos, not Webelos vs Bear) just from the app, @DavidMorris4. You may need to log in to SB+ (https://advancements.scouting.org) then look at both the version of the rank and the version of the particular adventure to see this.

That said,

This doesn’t seem consistent with it being a rank level issue, although this

seems kinda like it supports the hypothesis that it’s not the correct rank version, because the app wasn’t updated until well after the new cub requirements were released and cub advancement was migrated to SB+.

That’s not to say that there isn’t a bug in the app. Rather, ruling this rank version issue out will help narrow the search.
