Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have a Scout who’s earned his Eagle in another council and troop but has earned Palms with our council and troop. The scout’s “sync” icon is active (showing next to his name) in Scout Book and his BSA ID is in his profile but I assume this is the BSA ID from our council, not his old council. None of his records are visible to me in Internet Advancement 2.0 or Scout Book (I am in the council and troop he is transfering into). How can we get his records transfered. What is the standard method of transfering records into Scout Book for scouts entering from another council?
Send an e-mail to scoutbook.support@scouting.org with the Scout’s name, old and new member IDs (BSA ID), old and new councils, old and new units. Request the accounts be merged. Be sure to indicate which is the old and new data so his account has the correct ID, unit and council after the merge.
Thanks again Ed. I’ve written to the former troop requesting the information and then I’ll notify Scoutbook about the merge. It would be good to have these details on the individual history report. Perhaps the new on-line registration form could also take this into account.
