Can multiple accounts be merged here or do I need to go through my DE?

I have a couple accounts that are in need of merging. Please let me know if I HAVE TO go through my DE.

Thanks

Rebecca,

If you post the BSA Member IDs (not the names) of the accounts that need to be merged, the SUAC can help once the internet outage at the BSA National Data center is resolved as the tools we need to merge accounts are hosted there.

@edavignon i have this issue. I just movred to a new council. I have all my ids where do I post the numbers to get the accounts merged

@Swoape211 Right here. Include the IDs but not the names

accounts is a BIG word in BSA - there are my.scouting accounts (BSA #) and Scoutbook accounts

from BSA# - log into my.scouting.org > click Menu top left > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY > Then go to Scoutbook.com and log in using your my.scouting.org credentials

Council can merge my.scouting (BSA #) and SUAC can help you with Scoutbook Accounts.

Help! My two IDs need to be merged 13768216 & 12233869

Kevin,

Your council registrar should be able to merge BSA Member IDs. Since 12233869 is your registered MID this is the one that will survive.

I have merged your Scoutbook accounts. You need to use your my.scouting.org ID that is not your e-mail address to log in.

OK: I think I spoke to you about this Scout before. Somehow he has created a second account and that’s the only account I can see in my.scouting.org, IA AND Scoutbook. It is completely wiped clean (except a newly added MB)

The BSA # is 127954776

PLEASE HELP! Thanks!!

@RebeccaClark - I see what happened and can fix it BUT I do not see a merit badge - I see reqs done for Personal Fitness - Do a Scout History report on the scout first so you have any data and post back here so I can then fix it.

yes, that’s what I meant. He has requirements listed for PF MB. I have written down that information. I will re-add it

Thank you for fixing this error.

I have another scout and an adult who also have errors. I will make a new comment about these errors.

Hi.

I have 2 people who I need accounts merging. One person has 2 different member BSA Member Numbers. But the other only has one. I do have 2 different User ID numbers for that person but not sure if I can post those here. So I will type the member ID numbers fo the one person I need to combine. Please let me know what I can do for the other person.

Next issue:

We have an adult leader and Scout who just moved to VA from KS. (military family)

In KS, Adult leader’s # was 13284213. I turned in a transfer form and he was assigned the # 137221166

All his training is linked to the original number.

The new number lists him as the parent of the Scout # 13722165 The Scout had another number in KS (I don’t have access to that number) and all his advancement is linked to that other number.

What I’d like to have happen…all their accounts merged, the Adult leader be listed as a committee member in our troop (as that’s how he registered) and the Scout be listed with all his earned ranks and advancement information

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your help. My DE Tried to help me but was not successful

To clarify…I saw your comment above about my.scouting.org and merging numbers. Can I do that for the adult leader or does he need to do that?

@RebeccaClark - Scout is fixed - the adult needs to do it themself or have council do it

@RebeccaClark - I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

Hi I have 2 accounts that need to be merged. It is an adult leader. I can not input her email into her current account as it is already connected to an older account which is connected to her child.
Are you able to do this?

I am in the same boat as Rebecca Clark. I am an adult leader with a scout (miliary family) who recently moved from the US to Japan and somehow has two accounts. I can only see one account, which does not have the advancement sync option enabled so I am able to enter awards but not approve them. I contacted my council and they instructed me to reach out to Scoutbook to have the accounts merged. Can you please merge accounts 137101370 and 136839936? We have tried everything here at our level (to the best of my knowledge) but just can’t seem to fix the issue. Thank you.

Military Scouts are disproportionately affected by these issues. It’s very unfortunate. Half my troop is military. I had 1 scout arrive with FOUR SCOUTBOOK ACCOUNTS, each with a different piece of his Scouting history attached. THAT was a mess!!!

The best way I’ve found to minimize this is by transferring the scout’s Scoutbook account in before submitting the paperwork to council, and making it as blatant as possible that the scout has an existing BSA ID from another council. It takes a ton of work on the front end, but it’s the only thing that really seems to make a significant impact on the system. Until BSA goes to a system using a single BSA ID across all councils it’s likely going to continue to be an issue, even when units/families theoretically do everything “right”.
