Can registered adult be given new position on my.scouting.org?

So 136509386 is the old SM, and has moved out of the area and now has nothing to do with the Troop. The site says I need to “unassign” one of the 2 people in the position, but I can’t figure out how to do that. I made him a reserve scouter, but that did no remove him from the SM position.

132255780 is a current Asst SM and unit training chair, and also the new Troop SM. Again I’m told he has too many positions and I should unassign him, which I would love to do.

Could you please advise on what I’m missing here and how I can realign these Scouters?

In my.scouting.org on the Roster page position manager tab, you can change the registered position of the SM. After that is done you can change the registered position of the ASM. You may have to save after each change.

If this doesn’t work, contact your Council registrar who can make the registration changes or explain how you can make them.

@PaulSwicord In the Position Manager, you should be able to click and hold the Scoutmaster’s name and move it to the Unit Scouter Reserve position. Then click and hold the ASM’s name and move to the Scoutmaster position. Then save.

Please keep in mind that you will need to wait for the overnight sync to run. So if you just made the changes today, you will need to wait until tomorrow to see them.

If things are not correct tomorrow, please contact your local council for assistance, as Ed recommended.
