Cannot Login to scout book

Cannot login to scout book, whenever i try i get an error saying:

You are not setup yet for the BSA Single-Sign-On (SSO) so your use of Scoutbook is limited. All users who have not setup SSO by Feb 1st, 2019 will no longer be able to use Scoutbook. Setup is easy. Just go to your Scoutbook My Account page and click on the link Setup SSO .

I have not changed any login settings recently.

Are you a parent, scout or scouter? If you’re a scouter, are you using the same credentials you use when you log into my.scouting?


When i try in incognito mode, I get the following window. The “spinning wheel” never stops spinning, even after running for 5 or 10 minutes.

I’m a Den leader. I’ve been able to successfully log in recently (less than a week ago) to Scout Book, and I’m currently logged into my.scouting.org

Hrm. My login was slow this evening, but eventually connected. Maybe it’s just a load issue?

DonovanMcNeil, I have tried incognito mode and pasted the results. The browser prompts for the authentication (through google) but never gets anywhere.

CharleyHamilton, It’s always slow, but i’ve let it sit for about ten minutes and it never loads. I’ve cleared the cache, rebooted the computer, etc.

For what it’s worth, i’ve been trying mostly in Chrome but i’ve also just tried in Edge. After 30 seconds of spinning wheel, i’m in. It has redirected me to the “mobile” dashboard even though i’m on a desktop and load times are very slow, but it’s working.

I’m assuming it’s something wrong with my Chrome browser cache or credentials. Thanks for the quick responses, appreciate the help!

@ChristopherJohnson25 - scoutbook has always had mobile listed in the dashboard url…for a decade at least.

I’m also having an issue logging into Scoutbook Plus. Scoutbook worked fine, but Scoutbook Plus/Advancements is not allowing me in.

Edit: Correction, it wasn’t letting me in before but now I’m in.

I thought it was weird that it asked me to login to Scoutbook Plus, when I was already logged into Scoutbook. I tried several login attempts with the correct password, and it just kept looping back to the login page.

After leaving the page, I logged into my.scouting.org and then went to Scoutbook Plus and I was in.

It is a bandwidth issue really - most troops and packs meet Monday/Tuesday night

I have not really found a fix to Scoutbook plus login. I have tried the suggestion of logging in through my.scouting, automatic links from scoutbook, different browsers, different computers etc. Every time I login I just get a white “error” box at the top of the screen.

@ErikPreske - I was able to log onto advancements.scouting.org this morning without issue

@ErikPreske what does the error message say? or can you post an image?
