Cannot remove a former leader from Permissions Manager

Hi,

We have a adult parent who has stepped back from their leadership role, but I cannot remove them from the Unit Leadership roles for Unit Renewal in my.scouting.org. I was able to remove him from leadership positions in Permissions Manager on Scoutbook Plus, but this doesn’t seem to carry over to the my.scouting.org roster?
As he is no longer in leadership, he has let his YPT/SYT lapse, but he is still the parent of an active Scout so I do not want to remove him from the unit.

His ID is 1348705; my ID is 13540705. We are with Pack 637 in the Four Mile Run District of the National Capital Area Council.
Thanks for your help!

Dallas Baker

1348705 is a bad number @DallasBaker - you might have to give it time for it it get to my.scouting

Apologies, 13480705 is the user’s ID.

I modified the permissions on Scoutbook Plus last Tuesday I believe; do you know about how long it should take to propagate to my.scouting?

Doing a little more research on my end: does opting them out of renewal in the my.scouting roster break their connection to their child or ability to update their adventures, etc. in Scoutbook? Or does it just remove them from Pack leadership roles? If the latter, I think that could be an option.

Thanks!

Permissions are different from Positions.

I unit leader cannot end all positions for another user - Councils do not like to lose Registration numbers. This user is a USR so has no default permissions for the unit.

You could click Opt Out in My.scouting or SB+ - and at the end of the registration the position would end. That would have no effect on the parent abilities.

OK, thanks! I’ll give that a try.

I seem to have the same issue removing leaders from scout connections. it gives an error. Have you been able to over come?

@JenniferRothberg- what are looking to accomplish ? Working in legacy is NOT recommended. You may just be able to use the clear old connections in connection manager.

my scout has left a unit and we would like to remove the connections. It is forcing me to select MB or parent as the connection if I unselect leader. If I leave it blank it then I get the error.

@JenniferRothberg- so you are the parent of the scout ?

Parent and leader of current troop - I have lots of permissions. and in my efforts I feel like I am messing things up more than helping

@JenniferRothberg- first off, i guess you unchecked the adult leader ?? Leave that checked and there should be a delete connection below update/cancel.

Those connections are nearly non-functioning anymore and in the near future they will be totally dead.

ok for example… I unselected adult leader and selected parent… not the Adult in the other troop is associated as a parent to my child. How would I fix that?

@JenniferRothberg- why would you do that ??

becasue I was able to change one to MB Counselor and then remove the full control that way…

so I thought I would see what happens

@JenniferRothberg - I would have just deleted the connection if the delete button was present. Playing around like that is only going to create issues.

No delete button comes up for adults in this unit. I wish it did.

@JenniferRothberg- do you see this in legacy scoutbook in the unit roster view

I waited for thier unit to recharter, figuring it would kick my kids out. and when we renewed the unit was not included. I keep waiting for things to end, but I can’t remove from their profiles. I figure its better to mess with my kid than other scouts having the same issues if not worse.

yes. I have the button and 0 connections are removed.
