Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have a adult parent who has stepped back from their leadership role, but I cannot remove them from the Unit Leadership roles for Unit Renewal in my.scouting.org. I was able to remove him from leadership positions in Permissions Manager on Scoutbook Plus, but this doesn’t seem to carry over to the my.scouting.org roster?
As he is no longer in leadership, he has let his YPT/SYT lapse, but he is still the parent of an active Scout so I do not want to remove him from the unit.
His ID is 1348705; my ID is 13540705. We are with Pack 637 in the Four Mile Run District of the National Capital Area Council.
Thanks for your help!
I modified the permissions on Scoutbook Plus last Tuesday I believe; do you know about how long it should take to propagate to my.scouting?
Doing a little more research on my end: does opting them out of renewal in the my.scouting roster break their connection to their child or ability to update their adventures, etc. in Scoutbook? Or does it just remove them from Pack leadership roles? If the latter, I think that could be an option.
I unit leader cannot end all positions for another user - Councils do not like to lose Registration numbers. This user is a USR so has no default permissions for the unit.
You could click Opt Out in My.scouting or SB+ - and at the end of the registration the position would end. That would have no effect on the parent abilities.
