Can't Assign Asst. Cubmaster Registered Role

After the permissions changes, I am unable to reassign my Asst. Cubmaster because he already is a Den Leader. He is actively in this role currently. Most don’t have enough leaders (We have 14) for every one to have only one registered role per person. Proper succession planning usually identifies, at a minimum, the Asst. Cubmaster/Scoutmaster. I could probably piece meal all the permissions to them in Functional Roles but this is far being a real solution as most will probably miss something.

You can only have one registered role in a unit unless you are COR. So you would need to end Den Leader registration/Role to add ACM role.

I can make that work and it shouldn’t affect their Den Admin permissions but I foresee issues in the future with undocumented role assignments because “the system won’t allow 2nd registered role in SB+”. Pack Trainer, Unit Religious Emblem Coordinator, New Member Coordinator probably could be Functional Roles.

Example:

  • Chaplin and Unit Religious Emblem Coordinator
  • Asst. Den Leader and Pack Trainer
  • Committee Member and New Member Coordinator
  • etc.

@ThomasCline- you can not have a second registered position in a unit by default. That is not a sb+ limitation but a Scouting America registration rule.

@ThomasCline there is no longer a SB Den Admin Role - it is now functional roles - The Scoutbook Plus permission system has changed. Admin roles in legacy Scoutbook do not apply to Scoutbook Plus. See Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video.

Thanks, I guess I am just trying to get use to the changes from Legacy SB.

Registration Guidebook, Pg 16, Multiple Registrations Section, last paragraph: “There are no restrictions on the number of positions one person may hold as long as the individual serves in only one position per unit with the exception of the chartered organization representative (CR), who is the only individual that can be registered in more than one position within the same unit. The CR may also serve in a multiple capacity as the committee chair (CC) or as a member of the committee (MC,NM, or PT) within that unit”.
