Multiple Positions/Roles Issue with SB

I’m the Cubmaster and was added to Den Leader and 4 other roles in SB. However I do not have the access of a Cubmaster (Pack Admin) anymore. This is every annoying and a work stoppage. There should be a way for the system to take your top role and use those privileges.

At this point there should be a clear way to switch between roles. Like a dropdown and not this “background program” trying and failing at picking the highest. Scoutbook is telling me I have 6 roles under my Pack. However Cubmaster/Pack Admin is really all I need. I’m stuck in Den Leader but really its more like just my parent rights.

I have checked and I’m in the role of Cubmaster in my.scouting and SB. I just lost my access after I think my Committee chair added me to a bunch of roles.

@briancoke15 you have a few issues - First your council has you in 2 positions in the pack - CM and ADL - that should be impossible and needs to be fixed by council in registration.

In Scoutbook.scouting.org you have 2 Pack Admin Positions (you only need 1) and you are Den Admin of all Dens - that is not needed as you are Pack Admin

On your more general question in Scoutbook + (advancements.scouting.org) - there is a dropwdown position selector in top right corner of the page

Yes, there is a dropdown, check. However not what I am talking about. It says I have 6 roles but I cannot switch between them at will, could be as easy as a hidden setting? I read there is a “mechanism” built-in to pick the highest role and uses that one. I get that it is “impossible” but I have been doing Software Development for long enough to know nothing is impossible with bugs. However, somehow, with 6 roles under one unit, which I would think this number should be “impossible”. The mechanism seems to be flawed and “confused” and with how clunky Scoutbook I feel it to be, really not out of the unbelievable category for me.

Roles assigned:

  1. Cubmaster
  2. Assist Den Leader
  3. Den Leader
  4. Den Admin
  5. Pack Admin
  6. Unit Advancement Chair

I’m not here poking fun or trying to be mean but really want to point that out and collaborate to reduce issues in the future and promote a good working environment. With a 24 hour sync time, I feel it is not crazy to think alot of changes can be made in 24 hours and other complaints I have.

I have contacted my Council as you have suggested.
