I am having trouble adding a scout’s Star rank to scoutbook plus. Youth # 14074791 had her Star Rank BOR on 6/26/2025. I signed requirement 3 in her book during the SMC on 6/2/25. All of the merit badges for req 3 were completed in 2024, however, requirement 3 is marked approved on 7/3/2025. I (SM) cannot change that date, nor can our advancement chair. Because requirement 3 has a date of 7/3/2025, I cannot add Miaya’s BOR on 6/26/25. How can I change the approval date of requirement 3 for her Star rank to 6/2/25?
@JamieEmbry- you should be able to use the x next to the requirement date to back it out and update it and save

This is what I see in SB plus – I can change the date for all other requirements except for req 3.
I have reported this to the developers.

I am also having the same issue. I can’t change the date for requirement 3 in the LIFE RANK Requirement. There is no option to change the calendar date. How can we do this? I called council and they can’t fix it either.
@JenniferPeterson2 that date is based on Merit Badges = if you think there is an error you can post the Scouts Member # (no names) and we can take a look
Member ID# 134133131 I ws able to remove the citizenship in Society which I believe was the date of June 2, 2025, and what we thought was the issue. But we still can’t alter the date. He had his BOR for Life Rank on 4-14-25.

Member ID # 132907570 for scout completing requirement 3 in Star Rank appears to be pulling in the 7/19/2025 date of Citizenship in the Community instead of Citizenship in Society or other earlier dated merit badges. Star Rank was earned 10/29/2024.
This is also affecting a scout in my troop (ID 132589877). Been broken for weeks now. It would help if we could select the merit badges that fulfill the requirements for a particular rank but this ScoutBook Plus thing seems to want to pick Eagle required badges instead of others that would fulfill the requirements. I complained about this in an earlier message in this forum; apparently it’s still broken.

Star MB requirements:
Earn six merit badges, including any four from the required list
for Eagle. You may choose any of the merit badges on the

Thanks for the reply - yes I am aware of this. But how do I pick the merit badges. For example, for STAR Scout, Scoutbook Plus picked badges Eagle required:
Swimming/CitizenshipSociety/PersonalFitness/CitizenshipCommunity awarded 07/19-02/25-05/24-02/25 respectively
For the 2 additional it picked Camping/CitizenshipWorld awarded 05/25-09/25 respectively.
Why would it not pick the earliest earned Eagle Badges and non-Eagle Badges. It should have picked Swimming/Communication/FirstAid/CitizenshipNation earned 07/19-05/20-05/21-07/21 and then Basketry/MammalStudy earned 07/19-07/19 as well.
For LIFE, Scoutbook Plus again picks all Eagle Required badges instead of the 3 Eagle and 2 non-Eagle. This combination of events makes it impossible for me to put in the date of the Board of Review of 05/30/2024 because Scoutbook picks Eagle badges that were earned after this date - it complains I can’t put in the Board of Review date as it thinks the merit badges Scoutbook selects for Life were completed after 05/30/2024.
If I’m doing something wrong, please let me know.
@KennethRandell - what are the date earned on this badges.. Awarded date is just an audit date. The badges should be in date earned order. Ignore the awarded date. Beyond that it does NOT prohibit the use of eagle badge to satisfy the requirement.
@KennethRandell if the scout has a BOR date for the same rank - erase the BOR date - that SHOULD force a recalculation of the MBs

The dates I entered in my previous reply are the dates the badges were earned - meaning the dates I listed are the ones that what show as the ‘Final Completion Date’. I believe I have done this correctly, please tell me if I have botched something.
@KennethRandell- you can run the scouts bsa history report on that scout and additionally run the advancement export from classic scoutbook to verify dates
I am having the same issue for a Scout (member ID 130534568). Scoutbook Plus is not pulling through the earliest-earned badges first for Life rank requirement #3, which is creating a conflict and prohibiting me from entering the correct BoR date for the rank. The “optional merit badges” section is pulling through only Eagle-required badges, not the earlier-earned optional badges. How can I get this corrected to move forward?
I’m also having this issue for a Scout in my troop (ID 131855406). Requirement #3 for Life Scout has an unchangeable date of 4/17/2025 while all the merit badges listed under the requirements were completed well before then.
I suspect that Scoutbook is using the 4/17/2025 date based on the order that the merit badges were recorded into Scoutbook. This Scout’s merit badges were recorded out of order in large batches at a time, so Scoutbook must have taken the merit badges that were recorded first and used them for req#3. Then their other merit badges were recorded (which are now used for req#3 since their actual completion dates were earlier) but the date for req#3 was not updated.
