Star rank — merit badge req’t. The system is using the “date approved” as the date completed, and it won’t let me fix it - so her actual BOR date can’t be entered. ID 14916893. It has 8/26/25, however her BOR was back in June.
There is a known issue with Star Req 3. The developers are working on a fix.

any idea when a fix is coming? we have this for two scouts now. I went back and basically rebuilt their entire rank and MB history (per recommendation from this forum as a workable hack) and it still won’t accept anything where MB are a requirement. this is affecting us for Star and Life ranks.
Scouting America IT does not publish timelines for fixes. The developers are aware this is a high priority issue.
Thanks for the feedback and appreciate this is frustrating for all involved. Just looking to help keep the records right and work through the issues with the team. I would suspect ultimately a sys admin or backend administrator might be able to overcome specific cases, and I also suspect working specific cases can detract from a more systematic solution on the platform.
I experienced this same issue with a Life scout. Our scout had completed all eagle required merit badges before he had his Star BOR and it said he didn’t have the necessary merit badges because it wasn’t selecting the correct ones for his rank. I was able to find a work around of deleting all the eagle required merit badges, which also required me to unapproved both 1st class and Star ranks. Then I added in the necessary number of eagle MBs for each rank and approved & awarded those ranks before adding additional eagle merit badges.
This seemed to work, however now I am unable to award his Life rank. I get the error message “leaderApprovedDate of previous rank should be earlier than leaderApproveDate in the request.” I’m assuming this is because of what I did to make Life rank recognize the correct merit badges. Has anyone else experienced that they can’t award the Rank? Do we know if this will be fixed when they fix the bug that is causing this problem.
