Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I’m trying to invite this parent to connect to her account, I’ve tried 5 times today and I don’t think it’s working, because when I go back it always says “sent a month ago”. Usually when the invite is sent successfully, it would say “a minute ago” or something like that.
After I click on the “update button” to send that invite, after a few seconds of “thinking”, the system gives me the error message (see the screenshot).
@NadezhdaAnikeev I recommend that you ask this parent to create an account (username / login) for herself at my.Scouting.org. She should use her legal name and her date of birth (not her child’s).
When creating her account, she should try to match with her already BSA member ID number: 141427816.
When the council created her account, they not only misspelled her first name, but also changed her birth date (she has a different month on the paper application) - I can’t see if the year was entered correctly, as my.scouting doesn’t show me that info, but the month is definitely wrong. What do I tell her to do when she goes to create her account on my.scouting.org?
Also, do I understand correctly that she should first create an account on my.scouting and then use that login on Scoutbook.scouting.org?
I would ask the council to make the corrections, first. Then have her create an account (username / login) at my.Scouting. Otherwise, she probably won’t be able to make the match.
