I am trying to change badges to Awarded en masse. Our Court of Honor was back in April, I can’t seem to edit the Awarded date. I am directed to the green Award and Finish button. Any suggestions? thanks.
@EthanLido the awarded date is just trivial audit data saying when Awarded was marked off. It is just tracking when the action in the database was entered.
In the past the Awarded date reflects the Court of Honor date. Is there any way to manually change the Awarded date?
@EthanLido - are they all in the to award section?
Yes, Advancements > To Award
@EthanLido - there is a box in the red bar that will select ALL items in the section and that will activate the Award Items
Yes, but I’m unable to enter a date, it defaults to today’s date.
@EthanLido - correct. It would have been best to have taken the awarded action right after that CoH but as Donovan noted that date is of little relevance. The completed date is what is recorded in the system for the scout record.
This was explained back in October of 2025
The Awarded Date is NOT stored in the database. The only date related to awarded is the audit date which ONLY indicates the date the award was marked awarded. There is no way to change it unless someone invents a time machine and you go back to the date you want then mark the award awarded.
The date has always been the date Awarded was marked. If in the past that action was the same day as the COH then it would have been the same day, but it is trivial - it is only there to show that the award has been given to scout
So, one approach might be to add the awarded date & information as a note/comment to the overall items (if it’s really that important to track specifically when it was awarded for some reason).
ETA: You would probably have to “group” things by what you were awarding (e.g. everyone who was awarded First Class, then everyone who got Camping MB, etc) to potentially do this through quick entry, but I think you would have to include a date for the items, and I can’t recall if entering a later date for Completion/Leader Approval overwrites the “existing” dates. My recollection is that it’s not supposed to do that, but I don’t have any scouts to test it on without driving my advancement chair nuts just ahead of our CoH. :^)
