Changing Primary Member ID Broke Scoutbook Account

I was attempting to fix a yellow icon next to my account in scoutbook. I had two member IDs associated with my “my.scouting” account. The two Member IDs are: 134682573 and 133546288. This showed up in scoutbook too, and I thought it was the cause of the yellow icon.

I changed the primary account to 133546288 since it was the older of the two, but after changing the setting the second member ID disappeared from my.scouting > manage member ID page. On my.scouting.org my member ID was successful changed to 133546288, but the other ID was no longer visible from my.scouting.org.

I first thought this may have fixed things but after returning to scoutbook and logging out and back in the yellow icon was still there. Scoutbook still showed both member IDs and had 134682573 as the primary ID. I gave it about 30 minutes, but then when I logged back into scoutbook my account was blank and no longer linked to either of the member IDs.

I am no longer linked to either of my son’s scoutbook accounts, nor do I have access to my troop where I am an admin. Any help resolving this is greatly appreciated.

Now when I log into my scoutbook account it says:

Warning, another user is using the same e-mail address. If this is unexpected, contact your local council or post to the Using Scoutbook Forum.

Perhaps just merging these two member IDs would help resolve this?

SB User ID: 13258476

@jscurlee This is fixed. I recommend that you contact your local council and ask them to use the Registrar Tools to look up your children. When they look up the children, they want to check children’s “Relationships” and make sure that children are connected to parent only the correct BSA member ID number: 133546288.

@JenniferOlinger thank you for the quick response. Things do appear to be fixed and the yellow exclamation point next to my name is resolved.

However, I now have two dashboard links when I click on the navigation menu (see attached image). Both of these appear to take me to the same page. Is this due to the two member IDs or is this a bug? This isn’t really a problem, just a difference from how things appeared before I changed the primary member ID. I also noticed that the other member ID appears in my.scouting.org again. I also noticed my SB User ID is different than it was last night. Was the fix to simply re-add this member ID to my.scouting.org or was there something else required? Can these two member IDs be consolidated to prevent any further confusion with my Member ID.

Thanks again for the help.

Best regards,
John

@jscurlee If you clear your browser cache and cookies, that should clear the Quick Nav.

@JenniferOlinger I tried clearing my browser cache and cookies but I still saw the same menu. That’s ok though. The original issue is resolved. I marked your earlier comment as the solution. Thanks for the help.
