I am an Advancement Chair and we had some eagle merit badges that were posted with the wrong dates and I am trying to change the dates but they say they are not available as they are tied to Star rank (I followed the request to unapprove their Star rank - completed but not awarded) so I changed the Star rank to unapproved but it still gives me the same error “This merit badge has been counted toward the fulfillment of requirement #3 (Star, Life, or Eagle). The corresponding rank must be unapproved before unapproving this merit badge.”

@ChristopherLai I think the issue is that this Scout has all of the requirements for Star rank marked off, so the rank is “rolling up”. Pick a requirement, such as 7. (Scoutmaster conference), and temporarily remove it. After you have temporarily removed one of the requirements, then you should be able to temporarily remove the Star board of review date.
Then you should be able to correct the merit badge(s).
