Before my Troop embraced Scoutbook there was a parent who entered absolutely every activity possible. But he did it only for his son, as he wouldn’t have had access to add others. I am trying to clean up and add Scouts and Scouters who were confirmed at those events. But his Activities are “Personal Activities” and not “Group Activities”. How can I convert them? Basically it doesn’t give an option to add additional Registered Youth (or adults) to the activity. I tried recreating a couple and deleting his original submission (to prevent double counting nights, miles, and hours). But this is super tedious to record dates, times, locations w/address, notes on what was done etc, and fill out a new form. We are talking monthly Activities for about three years. Is converting these possible?
@MarkThomas4 - personally I would add the group activities for everyone else and leave those personal ones alone if they have been approved. I would also make sure they are correct. I do not think you can convert them but I have not been inclined to do so. And 3 years of data.. I would think that there were participants that are no longer with the unit.
There is no way to change this - and I think this is such a one-off request there is just no ROI for development. I would do what Stephen said - it is barely anymore worked than converting them and then adding scouts would be.
I didn’t think it would be easy, and certainly not a common issue. But you never know till you ask.
Maybe a low priority future option would be a “duplicate event” button. This would be handy for things like summer or winter camps, or things the Scouts vote to do every year like a shooting sports campout. I think even accounting for attendees, these would be 90% the same from year to year and take minor updating. When you have 50 plus youth and 10 or more adults, it takes a minute on Monday to finalize an event. Inputting events has made determining OA eligibility as easy as running a report. We are entering all data we can moving forward and looking to go back a little. The current SB+ is the best option out there, and we have fully embraced it.
