When I log into Scoutbook, I get a message “Warning, another user is using the same e-mail address.” When my kids were in Tiger Cubs, a Scoutbook account was created by the Cubmaster. I never logged into it and the Council eventually created a duplicate account that uses the same e-mail address. This causes a problem in that when the Council uploads a list of Merit Badge counselors, it shows my name but does not show that badges that I council. I think that Scoutbook is displaying the list of badges (none) that are associated with the BSA ID that was never used. Is there a way to delete the user ID that I never used? My active SB ID is 13766022. My request is to delete the BSA ID / SB ID that is associated with the same e-mail address as I use in 13766022. Does this make sense? By the way, I also have a SD ID 12345313 due to multi-council registration. That SD ID has a different e-mail address.
@MikeGandrud You did have a duplicate Scoutbook account. I have merged it. Your council might need to take another look at your assigned merit badges if that doesn’t resolve within 24-48 hours.
The reason you are getting the warning message: "Warning, another user is using the same e-mail address” is because you and your children are using the same e-mail address.
Thanks. I just want to make sure that you did not merge the two SD ID’s that I listed. Those are both present for reasons and need to stay separate. The account to get rid of is a different account which was never used and for which I do not know the SB or BSA ID. There may even be 2 such accounts that were never used. The 1 or 2 accounts to get rid of were created in 2019, were never used and have my .net email address. This account or accounts from 2019 would list me as father of a tiger cub. In the roll-our of the new Scoutbook several months ago, for a short time I saw this account listed in my.scouting. My main account 13766022 uses my .net e-mail. This account needs to stay. The 12345313 uses my gmail e-mail. This account also needs to stay.
@MikeGandrud- just an fyi..you do not need to be registered in multiple councils to be an mbc… a scout can work with an MBC from any council
Thanks for the clarification. The second account was created in communication with the council Registrar who was talking to people at the National Council about an access issue some time ago. I have been told though it is unclear that it may be needed to be in Troops in 2 councils which my kids and I are.
@MikeGandrud- yes each council has its own set of member id numbers. It does create issues as scoutbook is set up to be single council id.
@MikeGandrud You had 3 Scoutbook accounts. One of them was basically empty, and that is the one that got merged.
Please ask your primary council to see if they can load your assigned merit badges again.
