Warning message about another user with same email

I’m getting this message when logging into Scoutbook: “Warning, another user is using the same e-mail address. If this is unexpected, contact your local council or post to the Using Scoutbook Forum.”

This is unexpected, so I’m contacting the forum.

@JodieGaugh Your Scout has your e-mail address applied to his Scoutbook account.

We have 3 users in our troop who are getting this same error message.


Post BSA Member IDs or Scoutbook User IDs (no names) and tell us which ID you posted. We will investigate.

The 3rd adult (a parent) it won’t even show me, I get an error, but these 2 numbers are in the address bar so I’m hoping one of them works: 10102909 2902251

It turns out Adult #2 had a different problem. They’ve got duplicates in Scoutbook, here are both:
10102214 and 11159185
Could they be merged? The email associated with 10102214 is the one they use most.

@JessieClawson ok they need to use their my.scouting.org username and password to log in - but it has been near 2 years since they have logged in

@DonovanMcNeil It looks like adult #2 has 2 BSA member numbers and also 2 my.scouting user names.

Yeah the adult actually used to regularly login and use scoutbook, plus she did her training on my.scouting.org. Then some time passed and she hadn’t logged in and then when she tried she couldn’t remember her password. Then she thought maybe she needed to register again. Now she’s got 2 but she can’t seem to use what she needs to for her position. I’m not sure how to help her.

Hello, I am having the same warning and I believe that there are two issues going on:

  1. I can see that my email address is added to two of my scout accounts, but I am unable to remove it because an email is required.

  2. Several years ago my wife had an account created that she attempted to transfer to me. I believe it still exists with my email address, but I cannot confirm this.

@KenWilliams the email was on 2 of your scouts accounts - I cleared it for you

I have the same issue @JodieGaugh . Here is the one account I am logged into. Not sure about the 2nd.
