Duplicate Membership Need to remove one

We have an issue with a Leader account.

It seems that somehow another account was created using the same name, address, ph#, and Email address… only thing different between these 2 accts is the DOB.

Membership ID’s are different. The old ID is the current ID, the new (??) one looks like a dummy acct. both accounts are linked to the Leader, Both accounts show up as a connection to the Child’s Scout account.

They were having a difficulty logging into scoutbook, I suspect because both accounts are linked to the same email acct, with the same user name… that’s the possible issue??

How does one go about getting the duplicate account removed from the system?

Thanks

Nick.

If you provide the two member IDs (no names please!), the SUAC volunteers may be able to help with diagnosis. Depending on the situation, it might require your council’s help to resolve.

@NicholasHoffman2 Please post the user’s member ID number, and someone can take a look.

(No names, please)

Can you please fix our leader? He has two scoutbook accounts with different numbers. He was right until our recharter processed, then this happened.

140974079 - Current with Council 544

141682855 - No longer with this council

Can you please fix our leader BSA ID? She has two scoutbook accounts with different numbers. (different leader)

141638259

14818986 - Current with our Council 544

I have merged this user’s Scoutbook accounts. However, you might need to wait for the overnight sync to run.

MID #141682855 belongs to council 544.

I hesitate to merge these. If she plans to be camp staff again with this council, then we should not merge them.

Sorry, busy day… here are the 2 membership#s

14654961 (registered)

14545734 (looks to be duplicate)

Let me know if there is something that can be done with them

Thanks again

Nick

@NicholasHoffman2 I have merged the Scoutbook accounts.

I recommend that the local council use their Registrar Tools to look up her child (or children). In the “Relationships” tab / section, she should be listed as parent only under her primary member ID number (MID): 14654961. She should be removed if listed as parent under any other MIDs.

She also has 2 usernames (logins) at my.Scouting. The local council can also fix that.

Copy that, she does. Thank you! Is it normal to show two profiles on scoutbook tho?

Thank you! I appreciate your help.

@JamieHaller She has 2 positions in Scoutbook (legacy). The ASM position should have ended 02/28/2025.

Yes, she should have 2 profiles in Scoutbook, one for each council. However, I wouldn’t expect you to be able to see both.

ah. That makes more sense! I will let her know.

Two more, for youth though: (our recharter just processed recently, it was not like this before. Both are only active in council 544, if they are linked to others, can we close them?

141817383 - currently on roster on my.scouting for council 544 - current council

scoutbook shows 141817383 is her previous member ID and that her current ID is: 141070033

Same for her brother

141817347 currently on roster on my.scouting for council 544 - current council

scoutbook shows 141817347 as a previous member id and that the current one is: 140421431

@JamieHaller This should be fixed, although you might need to wait for the overnight sync to run.

Can you please look at 126338580? This leader has multiple positions, but gets an error messaging trying to access scoutbook after our recharter processed. It says another user is using the same email. (?)

This user and her child with first initial J. were using the same e-mail address. I have removed it from J’s Scoutbook account. Please ask the user to try logging in to Scoutbook (legacy), go to:

My Account → My Connections

and click on “Clean Old Connections”. I am not sure if it will work, but it might be worth a try.
