Eagle Palm Awarding Issue

I have an Eagle Scout (130684604) who was awarded the rank of Eagle on 2/26/2022. I’m trying to approve 4 eagle palms (42 merit badges). His 41st merit badge (last merit badge for the fourth palm) was completed on 12/21/2022 which was before his Eagle Board of Review which implies at his board he would have been approved for all four palms.

Each palm has Auto Approved by BSA Administrator on 8/3/2022 but Scoutbook will not accept the date of the EBOR for the palms.

Please advise.

Please explain what is happening when you try to enter the palms.

It looks like there is a bug with Eagle Palm requirement #4. It is supposed to have the same completion date as the 5th merit badge (whichever merit badge is completed and approved last). The date for requirement #4 used to be editable.

The error message that displays says “Check the date. Requirement #4 was completed after this date.” I am trying to use the Eagle awarded date of 2/26/2022 for the 2nd palm and the 5th merit badge was completed on 12/3/2019.

I do not understand the auto approved part of your statement

We didn’t do anything to approve the palm. As shown under the 5th merit badge here, requirement #4 was automatically approved by “BSA Administrator” on 8/3/2022 which should not have happened.

It auto completed - you approved it - I can setup a screenshare to look at it if you want

Sure thing. Let me know how to go about doing that.

I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

On same type of issue, my son’s Eagle Board was held after he turned 18. Scoutbook is telling us that the date for the Palms must be before his birthday. But that was before he was awarded Eagle.

@DavidSchilpp you use the same date as the EBOR for Palms

@DavidSchilpp

My daughter’s EBOR was also after her 18th birthday. I had no issue adding the palms she earned by using the EBOR date.
