I, and others in the troop, have multiple accounts in scoutbook. one account i am a parent with the wrong email address put in and the other account i am a key 3, admin, unit advancement. when i try to put my email into my parent profile it tells me that the email address is already in use. we are also having trouble with scouts who signed up with their parents email and the parents cannot sign up because the email is already in use in scoutbook.
well scouts that have parents email is the registrars fault. I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC) @JustinEmmons
I am having a similar issue. I have a parent who has the “changeyouremail” address but when I try to put in the correct one I get a message that it is already in use. They are entirely new to scouting so I am betting that his email address is linked to the scout.
@AlexanderKostera What is the scout’s bsa member number? We don’t need the name.
The scout’s BSA member number is 137220718
The father’s BSA member number is 137220719
Thanks!
@AlexanderKostera I have removed the email from the scout. You should be able to add it to the parent.
That did it, thanks!
I do have one more question that you may be able to help me with. I have a Den Leader who transferred in from another Pack and ever since the change she hasn’t been able to get access to Scoutbook. I sent her an invitation through Scoutbook which she received but it prompts her for a password that she doesn’t seem to have. When she tries to recover her password she never receives an email to make that change. Is there a way to just reset her password?
Her BSA member number is 133829869
Thanks again
is she using Oboezrule and her my.scouting.org password to sign in?
Oboezrule is correct but I think that she doesn’t know her password. When she uses the “I forgot my password” link and requests an email it never seems to reach her even though the email address in Scoutbook is correct.
on my.scouting.org - there is a blue bot at bottom right that can help her - all she needs to say is forgot password
I’ve got a similar issue that I can’t add mom as a connection because it says her email is associated with a youth. BSA member number: 137138207.
Specifically the error message says," Email: Only adult Scouters can be invited. A youth Scout was found with this email address in Scoutbook." Council tried to fix, but still a problem. Can you help?
@AudreyLStorm what is email address - we will erase after you post
Thanks! ok just a few
ok it is removed - they seem to have registered twice - Ben and Benton - the parent you are seeking has a my.scouting.org account bensabath. She cannot immediately use her google login as she has been. You need to invite her and she needs to accept. Council needs to go in and change the DOB for mother. @AudreyLStorm
Thanks. Invite sent. I’ll let Council know.
@AudreyLStorm the MID they want to see wrong DOB in is
13727250
We used the blue bot and were able to figure out what the problem is. Her email address in her profile on our Scoutbook page is correct, but the email address that is linked to her password recovery is not the right one. Is there a way that you can help us change that?
@AlexanderKostera maybe - I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
