Parent's email on scout's account

I am trying to fix an issue with a parent’s scoutbook account not receiving emails. The parent’s sb profile shows no email address and when I attempt to edit and add an email address, the system says that the email is already in use. The parent thinks that they might have added the email address to their scout’s account at some point.

the BSA ID of the scout is: 132093200 and I can also add the parent’s if that helps things. Also if it matters, the charter/membership renewal is in some form of limbo waiting for council to process it, I think.

And the 132093200 for the scout is what I see inside scoutbook. So I’m as sure as I can be.

@JedWhite we think the “” in Scouts name is breaking our tools - your registrar says she does not use special characters so wondering how it got there

To the best of my knowledge, he was originally registered in this same council. Regardless, what should the next step be?

THE EMAIL IS CLEARED AT LEAST but the scout account is still messy - I think your council needs to get rid of the “Trey” - no quotation marks

I will be sure to mention that if the registrar ever answers the phone when I call. Regardless thank you for the help.

Trying it again, I am still getting the email already in use error. Is this something that should take a while for the system to process through?
