it sounds like a time out - but I just need to see it to isolate it - do you want me to make myself admin in your unit to see it?
I log in, go to teh scouts page and the tab "Christopher’s Advancement.
It lists all his ranks, places for palms, and than the MBs.
Palms 1 and 2 are there, but entering date and checking the approved and awarded boxes results in the error messagfe
If you can make yoruself an admin, go for it.
The error message happens is within 2 seconds - pretty fast if it is a timeout ssue.
Palms 1 through 10 should all be entered as approved on 10/26/2023.
If you have an e-mail, I can forward the advancement report if that helps.

Yes there seems to be a time out - Developers have reproduced it and trying to figure it out - we do not know when it will be fixed - Councils should still be able to use registrar tools to enter them if needed

Glad to hear the developers have been able to reproduce the issue.
Our council “Eagle rank and palms expert” has been unable to enter the data. He has tried multiple times, including deleting all prior entries and starting from scratch.
Still unclear how SB once showed the scout had 17 palms, but that’s for another day.

I contacted my council registrar (AAC) to get the palms entered, and they suggested using Scoutbook Plus (https://advancements.scouting.org) to enter the award. I was able to successfully enter the palms for my scout directly in that system. Until the Scoutbook developers can fix their system, I hope this workaround solves your issue as well.
I logged in to Scoutbook Plus, however I can’t find where to enter palms.
Under youth profile I see ROSTER,CALENDAR, ETC.
When I select Scoutbnook, it sends me to the “normal” Scoutbook, but same error when trying to enter palms
In Scoutbook Plus Awards shows palm #1(2017) approved (but not awarded) and palm #2 (2024) awarded, but palm #2 (2017) not started.
Scoutbook does not show any 2017 palms being available to record them has being earned, however #1 through #10 should be recorded as 2017 palms and awarded as they were all earned on10/26/2023, before the 2024 rules for additional palms took effect.
Okay, try this. I’m not an expert in the system (didn’t know about Scoutbook Plus until this week) but as SM, I know I have rights to record progres. Make sure you are in Scoutbook Plus (https://advancements.scouting.org/roster) on the roster page and find the scout in the table.
- Click the checkbox next to their name
- In the gray horizontal bar at the top of the roster table, click on “Record Progress”
- Choose “Record Advancement”
- Enter the date, choose “Award”, then under Advancement Item search for EAGLE PALM #x and year (assume 2024 as that is the year the 3-month wait was rescinded)
- Approve it and choose “Save and Record Another”
- Rinse and repeat for all other palms
Good luck. If you don’t see “Record Progress” in step 2, you might not have the correct permissions in the application.

I was able to enter #4 through #10 as earned and awarded as 2017 requirements.
What I can’t seem to do is change #3 from earned to awarded
I am getting the same error-- I am assuming it is due to the removal of the three months in between, and it not wanting to award-- Scout number 3624057
@KellyStone2 The issue that others were having was resolved. What are you doing when you get that error?
All of the issues I reported are NOT resolved.
I have a scout showing palms 1, 2 and 4 through 10 earned and awarded.
Palm 3 shows earned, but NOT awarded and when I try to mark awarded I get:
Palms must be earned in order. This palm cannot be earned before the last palm is earned.
Palms 2, and 4 - 10 show (2017) after the color (Bronze, Gold, or Silver)
Palms 1 and 3 do not have (2017), but should. as 1 through 10 were earned the same time - at the Eagle BOR in 10/2023
You might try Scoutbook Plus. It helped a bit
