Entry for Rank Requirements Not “Sticking” -- Follow-Up

On 10/15/25, I posted that I could not get requirement completion dates to “stick.” I have an update and was able to remedy the issue that I had.

As background on the issue that I had, I had backed out the Board of Review dates for all of the ranks in order to enter the Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class individual requirements that had not been entered by the previous troop that the boy was in. (We previously had entered the requirement completion dates for Star and Life.) I was able to successfully enter the completion dates from the boy’s hard-copy Scout Handbook for Scout, Tenderfoot and Second Class, but had problems when I got to First Class. I would enter the completion dates for the individual requirements for First Class and save. Scoutbook Plus would provide a dialog box saying that the requirements had been successfully saved (as was provided for the other lower ranks), but when I moved from First Class to another rank and then back, the First Class requirements disappeared.

It was suggested that I might have a cache problem and to use incognito mode in google. I cleared my cache and also used incognito mode in google as had been suggested in the forum to get into Scoutbook and Scoutbook Plus, but still had the problem.

I then asked the Scout and their Scouter parent to try to enter the completion dates. They were able to enter the requirements completion dates successfully for First Class after which I was able to approve the completions. I was then able to re-enter the Board of Review completion dates for Star and Life and get his Scoutbook Plus record completely sync’ed up with his hard-copy handbook.

I am not sure why the Scout and the Scout parent were able to enter the individual requirement completion dates and have them stick and I couldn’t, but this might want to be looked into.

I guess for others that might have this problem, you might want to try to have someone else enter the requirement completion dates and then go back and approve the completions, if initially you have problems with requirement completion dates “sticking.”

@JamesKim

Thank you for the update. We will keep this in mind if we hear of others having a similar problem. I suspect there may have been a data issue that was corrected when the parent or Scout updated the reqs.
