Error on accessing scout in Scoutbook

Have encountered an error message on clicking on Scouts in our troop roster - no information on what is wrong.

For one scout, this morning I had access and on making an invite to a MBC for one of his MB’s the system did not make that change , but instead then threw the error at me and I was no longer able (and continue to be unable) unable to view in order to continue. I also get the same error for several other scouts.

@IanMillard well your text is unclear. Are you an MBC? is so then going to connections to find a scout is the wrong path. On Dashboard when you log in the Top left are is My Merit Badge Councseling > everything you need is there.

Hello Donovan. Sorry my text is unclear. No, I was the SM and am currently an ASM. The problem is there is no information on the error type - it just throws when I click on a scout in the roster. And yes , the scouts I am clicking on are those I have connections too.

Access was there one moment, and gone the next.

All advancement for Scouts BSA except MBCs working with MBs is now in Scoutbook Plus (https://advancements.scouting.org)

@IanMillard _ i gather you are going to the scout in the roster then connections the clicking on the add button ?

Hi Stephen. Going to the scout in the Troop Roster ( Scoutbook ) , then clicking on that scouts name. Rather than taking me to the record , it just throws the error message. So I do not get as far as seeing the connections …

@IanMillard- my guess is that move from SM to ASM may have removed some rights or at least access controls. Is unit admin listed in your position list in classic scoutbook?

@IanMillard yes I think the system is acting correctly - your connection is just MBC to the scout and View Profile - you have no other advancement rights

@IanMillard- you will need to use the merit badge counselor menu in classic scoutbook to enter merit badge updates. Any future connections within the troop would need to be done by the key 3.
