I’ve been using scoutbook for several years so I am not a newbie. I am having an issue presently where when I go to my connections and click on a scout, it tells me there was an error and provides me a link to this forum. Is this how I am supposed to report this issue and get help getting it fixed? Thank you. John
@JohnNasci- are you a merit badge counselor or unit adult ?
@JohnNasci as a MBC it is best to go to Dashboard and use the Top Left Area - My Merit Badge Counseling - to do MBC activities
I’m Asst Scoutmaster and a MB Counselor. I’m trying to update scouts’ MB requirement completions. Never had this problem, been doing this for many years.
Yes. There was a change in how the access is structured. The intended path was always what Donovan described, but the path you used worked previously. Now only the intended path has been preserved.
Wow, that is a great tip. Thank you! However, it doesn’t solve my problem and I still can’t get into the individual scouts’ connection to see if the completions that I entered actually registered. How do I solve my issue? More importantly, how do I get help to solve the issue? Thanks.
John
@JohnNasci the My MBC area gives you access to everything you need - down to the Scouts individual MB page
When I click “Edit Merit Badges for MB Counselors” it feeds me a list of MBs for which I am the counselor. I select the MB, which then feeds me a list of the scouts to whom I’m connected to counsel that particular badge. Then I select the scout’s name, and it dumps me directly to the MB page for that scout.
Which part isn’t working for you/where is it breaking down?
The forums are the only way to get help as a SB/SB+ user. Otherwise, you have to have one of your council professionals submit a MemberCare ticket, which is typically slower than the help you can get here.
The first step is identifying which part is actually breaking. It appears (as a user) to have been an intentional change by IT that the MBC path to scouts’ MB pages via My Connections was severed, and the “intended” path described by Donovan was left intact.
@JohnNasci- i used the mbc menu items last week for seven scouts for a photography mb and had no issues
