Error when adding adult contact

I just added two new scouts to the pack and I am working on adding the parent. When I attempt to do so, I get the following error. Is there something else I need to do?

It sounds like your registrar associated the parent’s email address with the scout’s record in ScoutNet. I would reach out to the registrar, have them remove that email address from the scout’s record in ScoutNet, then attach it to the parent’s record. You likely need the BSA ID and full name for the Scout, as well as the full name for the parent to whom the email address correctly belongs.

that will not erase it - if you post the parents User ID (look at Edit Profile) we can probably figure it out and solve it

Ah, I had thought that was the entire process needed. Is there also a “scoutbook” step that needs to be done? I’m trying to make sure I understand what’s missing from the process I suggested so I don’t give the same bad advice twice. :wink:

In the Scout’s Edit Profile in Scoutbook, I see a BSA Member # and UserID, are these for the scout or for the parent?

Those are for the scout.

How do I get to the parent’s User ID? They don’t look to be in Scoutbook. Maybe them not being in Scoutbook is the problem?
