After last year’s recharter, I discovered that our chartered organization’s Executive Officer showed as not renewed. Scouting America policy is not to charge EOs a registration fee or to require Safeguarding Youth training. I had to notify the council registrar of the issue.
This year, our EO got an email requesting payment to register. He asked me if that was correct, so I verified with the Registrar that the policy had not changed.
The Registrar told me that she has to MANUALLY renew each EO. My advice to all units: let your EO know of this, and check your roster after renewal time. It would great if the SUAC could convince the IT folks to automatically renew the EOs, or at least send them a different message at renewal time.

First, do not use an acronym for Scouting America.
The SUAC does not have contacts that can fix this issue. The team that handles registration and my.scouting.org only accepts bug reports via tickets. A Council must open a ticket with Member Care to get this resolved.
@SteveHanson I just saw part of the issue last night when we renewed our EO. It is still free and can renew the EO at My.Scouting via the roster page. The issue, ScoutLife magazine is automatically checked for them (out of the way checkbox to the upper right above the actual registration, so it isn’t quickly obvious), which creates a charge. Uncheck this and it processes at no charge in 5 seconds.
@ZacharyMcCarty - yeah.. I had renewed the XO on the troop side without the Scout Life check box and it was instant, on the crew side I had not unchecked it.. and odd that it was not showing as renewed.. have to chat with the registrar on Monday.
