Having trouble entering a Position of Responsibility?

@Stephen_Hornak @JeremyBramwell

I have a Scout who earned First Class on 6/5/25.

We assigned him a POR immediately after.

I cannot seem to add his POR to SB, regardless of whether I check or uncheck the “Approve” box.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

@NicoleAllen3- hum.. what is the membership status in my.scouting.org for this scout ?

I bet that’s it! He is eligible to renew. @JeremyBramwell

I’ll have him renew and then try again. Thank you.

I purposefully cropped the image to not include my Scout’s name…is it visible somehow despite my effort?

I tagged our Scoutmaster in the post, if that what you’re referring to?

@NicoleAllen3

I was able to duplicate the issue with adding POR to a lapsed Scout. I have reported it to the developers.

Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.

I actually think it might be a good thing that it doesn’t let you add a POR to a lapsed Scout because it’ll force you to realize the Scout is lapsed, and the parents will be incentivized to renew.

I do, however, think it would help if an error message popped up telling you why.

@NicoleAllen3

The roster will tell you which Scouts are lapsed. The last column gives their expiration date. You can also set your filter like below to see who is in the lapse period.

Thanks. I did see those fields on the roster. I just wasn’t focused on thinking about if that particular Scout’s registration had lapsed when I was trying to update his POR.

But now the next time I’m having issues, I will of course go check the Scouts registration status first thing.

Thanks for your help!
