How can we update rank advancements retroactively?

We would like to generate an ISR for a Scout that has all of their rank advancement dates on it, as part of their Eagle Board of Review.

The problem that we have is that date for their 1st Class Scoutmaster Conference was left off back in 2022.

We figured out that, in Scoutbook Plus, we could uncheck the “:check_box_with_check: awarded” checkbox and update some records. When you do that, and try to set the date of the SMC, you cannot set it within a month of the date of the BOR. You get an error, and the calendar is greyed out for a whole month before the BOR.

Then the rank advancement loses its completion completely, and I have to log off and back on to reset the Scout’s record and re-award them their rank advancement.

When a Scouter with Full Control needs to edit an advancement record for a Youth in a rank that is already completed, and they uncheck “awarded” and save, they are able to edit the dates for the requirements in the rank.

When the Scouter is editing the requirement date for Scoutmaster Conference,

Expected: they can enter any date up to and including the date of the Board of Review.

Observed: they can not enter any date in the calendar month prior to the date of the Board of Review

@JamesReifsnyder-Smit- the report is not required for the Eagle Board of Review and neither are individual requirements. The council only sees final completion dates.

Thanks for the info, Stephen. I appreciate you clarifying that the report and individual requirements are not needed for the Eagle Board of Review.

So how do you set the date for Scoutmaster Conference after the Board of Review has been approved?

Just so I am clear, I am doing everything correctly and “unable to set or change individual requirements once a rank is earned” is a bug in Scoutbook Plus that will not be fixed.

@JamesReifsnyder-Smit it is not a bug - it is intentional to secure the data. The BOR is the official end of the rank and supplies the date of completion for the rank. Once approved by unit that is the date that goes into system for future verification,

If you neglected to enter requirements you would need to unapprove and uncomplete the rank (and all future ranks) in order to enter requirements. But as Stephen said, this is unneeded as the date of completion is the only date used.
