How to gain access to view Scouts Profile

I’m asking on behalf of an adult leader. A youth is registered in their troop and also in a troop in another council.

They can see the youth on their roster in Legacy, but don’t have access to their Scoutbook profile. The adult leader can see other youth accounts.

Is there a way to gain the necessary access?

@TrumanMortillaro it is better for the person to get on forums themself to discuss. your questions are just way to open-ended - especially with the 2 councils. Is the Adult a leader in a unit? Same unit as the Scout is in?

Agreed- I’ll send them this way.

to your questions- yes and yes.

Then probably the scouts SB User is using the other Councils Member ID so will not show for the first council

Thank you. Is there a way to swap out member ID’s?

We can take a look if you can provide the member Id (no names), but we are likely to have more questions.

The Scout will need to have 2 Scoutbook accounts, and one of them will need to be primary for advancement purposes. We will need to know which council is supposed to be primary for advancement.

Hey all, I am reaching out to the adult now. They should be commenting on here soon- they’ll be better equipped to answer questions. Stay posted. Thanks!

Hi, I am the Committee Chair for the Troop that the scout was registered primary in since he crossed over from the pack to the Troop- Seneca Waterways council. He recently joined the Troop in the Greater Falls Council - where he lives. He attends school in Seneca Waterways council. Dundee is technically boarders both councils. He is registered in both Troops. He made the Greaterfalls Troop his primary while continue to attend events and activites in our troop- including going to summer camp with us this summer. I was trying to look at which merit badges he already has taken and I received a message I do not have permission to his records anylonger in scout book.

@ChrissyClancey you would have no rights to that data if the other Member ID is on the SB user.

yeah see right now - it is one BSA # per SB User. So there are 2 ways to handle it.

We can have 2 SB Users made for the Scout - BUT advancement will no match between the 2 - but then each unit would have the scout in Scoutbook as long as they are registered in the unit. The scout would just need to monitor that advancement is entered into the correct account or the units can work together to make sure advancement matches.

Or the Scout can have one user, and the Member ID # is just changed between the 2 MIDs - this is messier and needs more interventions.

Thank you for the clarification!!

It would help if we had the member ID (no names) so we can look this up. Also, if the scout has a username and has both IDs under “manage member ID”, some info is supposed to sync between the two. I’ve not seen that work, but we’ve been told it does.
