Our scouts upload a image of their Rank page when they mark their BOR completed. A pic of their Blue Card when MB is completed.
However the image thumbnail keeps spinning and does not display any images. In some cases it does not allow the scout to to another “Add Image”
Any idea why uploading and displaying images is failing?
@JigneshShah1- I just tested the comment with image and I was able to see the image without issue. My first guess is image size may be the issue. Also, in order to add another image the scout must open the existing comment or adda new comment.
It keeps spinning… Is there a specific way to upload an image? Most of our scouts do it from the mobile phone as they take a picture and then upload it
Wonder if the phones are using the HEIC format?
Are they using the Website or the Scouting App @JigneshShah1 ??
We recommend they use the browser. But they could be using the browser on their phone.
HMMMMMM - I just did it on Iphone - on the Iphone I had a spinner. On desktop I see the image.
I am having the same problem adding a picture in my 1st class rank and in merit badges. It just keeps spinning and never posts. It’s JPEG and 160kb. I’ve tried mobile, Google Chrome browser on desktop, and safari browser on desktop. I’ve logged out and logged back in, waited a day, the gear just keeps turning and never posts.
I have the same problem with photos attached to comments in the Scoutbook Plus Calendar. Just keeps spinning when saving a comment with a photo (shows the photo beforehand but saving just shows the loadingspinner) . Tried jpg and png and even a very small size 23 KB. Tried Chrome, w/ and w/o incogneto and Edge all on a desktop.
@JaphetWoolston
I have tested photos with comments on both the test and production systems. I was able to attach a photo in both cases but it was SLOW. There is an item in the backlog to improve the performance.

Tried it from Chrome browser and desktop. Spinners only.
Can somebody clarify what image types/size are allowed?
I would test as a regular scout (not an adult) vs. a scout adult (leader). It worked when my scout leader tried to upload one of the photos I sent him, but still would not work for me. Thank you
I am the advancement lead for my troop and have full admin rights. It didnt work for me.
Somebody needs to evaluate the image upload to understand which roles have permissions, what are the acceptable file types and sizes, Which browsers, app etc are supported. Currently based on comments there does not seem to be any guidelines that would ensure it works and no error messages are displayed other then the spinners
Is there a way to download Roster→Advancements→ Awarded list
Need this to verify the Rank/MB was purchased (mapping it to PO#) and awarded to the scout
@JigneshShah1 - this should be its own topic, but do you not see a PO number next to an item in the awarded list ?
I’ve asked the developers but have not received a response yet.

For most items I do see it. For some I don’t but what Report (CSV) would give me the PO#’s
Currently the View has no download facility
@JigneshShah1- the to purchase tab would have all of the purchase orders. Or you could download the advancement data from classic scoutbook in the troop page then the backup item.
Will try the classic scoutbook tonight.
It would be nice that all the tabs in Roster-Advancements had a download CSV feature.
There is a GAP between the view and the Reports section. The view data elements are not availble in a single report and Frankly the Reports format is not Excel friendly with lots of blank data and columns. Cant use Filters/Pivots to see/prsent the data.
Any cleanup in Reports would be much appreciated.
