Images not displayed in SB+

I was able to upload a JPG (172 kb) of a blue card earlier today as Troop Admin. It did not accept the PDF, so I hack/pasted it into a single JPG. Got the blue dot spinner but then saved the date at top left and when it refreshed, the picture was there.

Yeah it seems they did not know HEIC would upload - seems alot of browsers will not show HEICs but that is all Iphones record. DEVs are looking for a solution to this.

That’s been a thorn in my side in my professional life as well.

By default. You can change it, but it won’t be easy getting everyone to change it. Then their old photos would still be HEIC.

Settings>Camera>Formats>Most Compatible.

Following up, the currently supported file types are JPG and PNG. We have requested to allow HEIC, but we don’t not know when or if that will be implemented. The file size limit is pretty big (over 50 MB) but could be really slow.

Thanks. Any Browser compatibility issues. I still am not able to upload any pictures

Were you able to confirm the format is either jpg or png?

I’m also wondering if you got caught up by the recent permissions revision. I would check with one of your unit Key 3/Key 3 Delegates to look at what your permissions are in SB+ under the just released permissions updates.

ETA: Here’s the reference post with links to the descriptive documents of the changes:

Thanks. I reveiwed the document and there is nothing specifc to image permissions. I am the Advance, ent chair of my unit and have admin rights. I am able to edit/advance all advancements but not able to upload an image to a rank/activity/MB etc

Are you on a mobile device or PC? What browser are you using? Are you trying to add pics to an advancement comment?

I am on laptop.
Chrome / Edge tried both
Yes I am trying to add pics to Rank entries and Comments for Rank/MB/Awards/Activities etc

What’s the file type and size?

I am still getting the turning gear when I try to add a photo to a 1st Class requirement. On desktop, the file is a JPEG and 486KB.

For me, it seems to be a roll of the dice. I was trying to upload images of rank advancement pages on Sunday evening. Loaded for some Scouts, not for others. All were from directly from my phone camera.

Youth ID 134931178 - Photos appeared to load, although now when I go back I see that only the first fully loaded. The second and third managed to load thumbnails, but a broken image icon pops up if I try to click on them now (First Class Rank)

Youth ID 14041786 - Photos 1 and 2 just loaded thumbnails, Photo 3 shows spinning dots. I did not realize that until I went back to check just now (First Class Rank)

Youth ID 12933564 - Photo did not load, still shows the rotating dots when I sign back in two days later (Star Rank)

Still no luck with uploading images. Is this functionality being tested for different image types/size/browser?

Any update to this topic? Tried posting MB update/documentation and it seems to be hit or miss (mainly miss lately). We’ve tried as a Scout and Scouter. We’ve tried adding it to the individual requirements comment section as well as overall MB comment section. The words post but the image (jpg or png type) does not. Either get the four-dot spin as others have reported or get this:

@MichaelYounger it posts just not immediately - it takes a few minutes in my experience

Timewise - It’s been days. No more spinning four dots after that amount of time but I get the screenshot/thumbnail I posted instead; as opposed to the photo, requirement form or documentation that was intended to be uploaded.
