Incorrect member ID in Scoutbook

Hello. I need to correct an issue where I have the incorrect Member ID on the roster for one of my troops.

@DaleSummerlin I assume you mean in Scoutbook+ roster? What Unit and Council?

As you have at least 2 active registrations - that means you have at least 2 SB Users - to switch between those users you would go to my.scouting.org > manage Member ID > and make the Member ID Primary of the account you want to log into > Save - then when you next log in you will be in that account/identity for all scouting systems. You will have to change it back whenever you want to see the other. I setup a 24 hour sync to get your positions right

I have just confirmed that my ID number is correct on the official roster in My Scouting. The ID number listed on the roster in Scoutbook is from the wrong council.

Transatlantic Council 802 - Troop 0053F
Member ID: 14121757

Great Smoky Mountains Council 557 - Troop 946G, Troop 42B, Pack 242F
Member ID: 142172007

@DaleSummerlin- are you looking at scoutbook.scouting.org OR advancements.scouting.org.. you really should ONLY be concerned with advancements.scouting.org

When I log in using my ID number for Transatlantic Council, my profile in advancements.scouting.org shows the correct ID number (14121757). However, the Transatlantic Council - Troop 53 roster in advancement.scouting.org is my ID number for the Great Smoky Mountains Council (142142007).

This mismatch appears to be impacting the sync between Scoutbook and My Scouting. This also appears to have broken the Scoutbook connections with my children.

Relationships to scouts/kids are solely based on Member ID - so if you are parent under one member ID that does not extend to another Member ID - it has to be set up for every member ID through Unit or council. Follow my directions above

Thank you for the information about the connections to my children being tied to a specific user ID. The does not address the issue with the Troop 53 roster showing the incorrect Member ID.

give that 24 hours to sync

Thank you. I have just noticed that my children have the exact same issue. The Transatlantic Council - Troop 53 roster is showing their Great Smoky Mountain Council ID numbers.

With youth it is a little different - it is one BSA # per SB User. So there are 2 ways to handle it.
We can have 2 SB Users made for the Scout - BUT advancement will no match between the 2 - but then each unit would have the scout in Scoutbook as long as they are registered in the unit. The scout would just need to monitor that advancement is entered into the correct account or the units can work together to make sure advancement matches.
Or the Scout can have one user, and the Member ID # is just changed between the 2 MIDs - this is messier and needs more interventions.

Figure out which way to go and post a Member ID for each scout and we can see.

We’re in the middle of relocating and trying to wrap up the last of the leader approvals with Troop 53. It sounds like the best solution for that is to leave their accounts alone and work through those approvals with the units. Does that sound about right?

Getting items to a complete state vs a requirement state does make it easier

Thank you. Everything is working the way it should.

Hello @DonovanMcNeil. I am in need of your assistance.

My child earned his Lion Rank in his previous council (Connecticut Yankee) under membership #140372882. At that time, they did not use Scoutbook. My husband and I both signed up to help as leaders but were not utilized then so we have membership numbers with this council.

Currently, my son is in a different council (Connecticut Rivers) under membership #141239842, where my husband and I are leaders.

I would like his Lion rank added to his time in his previous council and merged to his current membership. I would also like his profiles linked to my husband and I as parents,

He earned these achievements as follows:

10/24/23 meeting - Lion’s Honor

11/11/23 Fall Campout - Mountain Lion

11/16/23 meeting - Fun on the Run

12/21/23 meeting - start King of the Jungle

1/18/24 meeting - finish King of the Jungle

2/15/24 meeting - Animal Kingdom

2/15/24 meeting - Build It Up, Knock It Down

3/21/24 meeting - I’ll Do It Myself

4/18/24 meeting - finish Mountain Lion. Bobcat achieved. Lion rank achieved.

Thank you.

@CheriMicolDean - I am not certain that there volunteers on the forums can add those items nor make the parent connections. This may be a task for your current council registrar.

@CheriMicolDean that is something council would need to enter - or the current unit could move the scout to a lion den and enter the data.
