BEFORE YOU REPLY… PLEASE ACTUALLY READ MY POST (and I made edits to help)
okay… this has been asked but not really answered… the way we are actually looking for at least.
LEGACY Individual Advancement Report… a simple click of a button, select the scouts, and done… I HAVE USED THIS FOR YEARS SO I DO KNOW ABOUT IT
Responders/Programmers continue to promote
-
a click, click, click, click, click, (several more clicks), and then a “report” is given, but nothing like before (using report creator)
-
OR go to each and every scout and run a report (on this right side of page)
Be good people and bring the Report back with the SIMPLE “one-click, select the scouts, and print/save report” so we can have all the the reports run at once and in the format we are looking for
We thank you greatly for this.
Disclaimer: if you have already done so, where is it as I cannot find it
@JacksonKoontz > Scout Profile > Run Report on Right side > Right there
@JacksonKoontz - here is the spot
Donovan, please reread my post. I do know where it is individually (“OR go to each and every scout to run a report.”)
I - and many others - are looking for the 1 and done approach that we are accustomed to in Legacy… for multiple scouts, at one time… not the “click here, and here, and this box, and this box… and dang, missed a box gotta do it again” approach
Again, I thank you
@JacksonKoontz - this appears to work from the unit report menu in legacy
Oh? That IAR is a pain and we are not even sure if it is still official. There is the history report. But let me check.
Yes… That is where I still go… but Legacy will be no more coming soon and we all need a new place to go.
“Still official” ? Don’t really care about the “official” as I do the “absolutely useful”
Honestly, it is a one-page thing of beauty and to be able to click a button, select the scouts you want to run the report for, and save or print is the best thing ever!!
The thing is that, if Scouting America declares/has declared the report obsolete, the developers can’t maintain it (since it’s no longer an “approved” report and they work for national). You would have to make the argument to national via the council professionals to restore the one-page IAR in that case. SUAC isn’t the group making those decisions, and once told a decision has been made, their ability to push back is limited.
We can literally run this report by going to everyone’s individual page… has nothing to do with national and regardless If it 's a “official report”… take, for example, the report builder. That’s not an official report. But it’s a tool that we can use.
I’m not sure why this forum is this difficult
I am asking for a simple, one spot Click so I can select “all scouts” or a few at once, and run the report
Instead of going to each and Every. Single. Individual Page to click the word “run report”
Bluntly, I think it’s because no one here has the ability to say “yes” or “no” and make it stick. Whether any of us individually agree with you or not (I actually do think the older report and interface were easier to use, and I’ve said so before), it’s ultimately up to national to direct the development. If they say no, or just don’t respond to the SUAC when they suggest something, there’s nothing anyone here can do about it. The only other route to provide feedback is via bug reports/feature requests through your council professional staff.
Thank you for that.
With regard to National, again this is already done on an individual basis… We apparently would love the 1 click to do same as Legacy gives us .
Just stick the thing under Reports>>Advancement with those other reports
@JacksonKoontz - if it gets migrated this week with the planned work then you should be all set.
Hopefully it will migrate over… Like I said, this is simply taking what is already in Plus (individually per profile) and making it so a person can select multiple scouts.
THANK YOU
@JacksonKoontz - yeah totally get it. I found the announcement of when it was added and in fact they were looking to have a page 2
YES YES - I now see it under reports/advancement
THANK YOU THANK YOU - you have heard us and responded!!
THANK YOU!
@JacksonKoontz - i would guess the dev team determined the need, but they are not on the forums.. just us volunteers.
