Individual Advancement Report *still* not working

I know there are two other forums on this topic, but both of them have a note at the top of this page that reads, “The login issues appear to have been resolved. Scouting America IT continues to monitor the systems for a recurrence.” Creating this new forum since this issue has not been resolved. I just tried to create an Individual Record report for about 7 scouts and got the same “Whoops! We encountered an error trying to process your request” as everyone has been getting.

Seems like it’s a tough issue to crack! Good luck, IT team! We believe in you!

@AndrewValentine - if you go to the unit page, then reports then click on Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record you will get the new version of the IAR.

This is not apparently related to the login issues. FYI, that message banner appears at the top of every forum until dismissed by the user.

Sorry, you’re right. I’d thought it meant that this issue was resolved, but I see now that the banner says that a different, separate issue was resolved. I just got confused. Thanks!

@BSAAdministrator I don’t have permission to delete this topic, but it is indeed a duplicate. Could you please remove it so the conversion on this issue stays in the existing “Unable to run report” forum? I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I am also having this issue. I tried the work around by going into Reports via the Unit, and that also gives the same error message. Can I get this report any other way? Is “Internet Advancement” system accessible??

@FrancesMcCloskey - the work around is to use the new report Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record from the unit level report list.

@FrancesMcCloskey - any luck with that report

I have been having the same problem. The BSA history and advancement reports work, but when printed are too small to easily read. Please fix this.

It’s too small when printed.

@StephenFindlay - you do realize that when you select the pdf option you can change the percentage to increase or decrease font. And additionally, everyone on these forums are volunteers who can not “fix” anything. I just printed out my son’s report and had no issues reading it.

I tried again, using the Unit level “Troop Reports”. I selected “Individual Advancement Record” then checked the Scout Name that I need, and clicked “Generate Report”. I tried in Chrome and Firefox, and neither is working. I updated Chrome and still not working. I did a Windows update last night, wondering if this is the issue? any other ideas?

One other thought, am I in the wrong system? I’ve been in Scoutbook, is there another BSA system that I can use to get this report?

No, @FrancesMcCloskey not wrong system, but wrong page. From the dashboard after login to Scoutbook, do NOT click on reports. Rather, click on your unit (Troop) and go to the Troop page. On the Troop page, scroll down to reports and click that report menu. In that report menu you want to select the report that says exactly:

Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record

This report will then let you select the Scouts and run the report. If the font is too small on creation, you have the option of changing the size (it defaults to 100) when generating the pdf(s).

This report mentioned is the replacement for the old IAR report that you are trying to run.

I am going to my Troop page.

I am not able to paste in an image of the menu that I see from the “Troop Reports” item on my Troop Page. However, I’m not getting the option of “Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Report”, there is a “Scouts BSA Recognition Report” just below the 'Individual Advancement Record"
I’ll ask someone else in my Troop to run the report and wait for awhile to see if this resolves itself.
thank you for your time.

@FrancesMcCloskey

Its just above the recognition report line. The last part is record not report

@FrancesMcCloskey is it is not visible in the Troop report menu, then it means you don’t have the proper position or security rights to run the report (it only shows if you have the proper rights/position).

Most certainly ask someone else in the Troop to run. Just make sure they do NOT run the Individual Advancement Report. It will not work for anyone, no matter their position nor rights. Make sure they select:

Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record

This is the only report that will work for what you are seeking.

@FrancesMcCloskey - here is where that report is

@FrancesMcCloskey for you and other looking for this solution, here’s some screenshots that may help.

This is the Dashboard, you don’t want this Report menu:

Rather, navigate to the unit page and select the report menu there:

If the Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record is not visible here, then it is a rights/position issue that is preventing the logged in user from seeing it.
