Issues Transferring a Scout to Our Pack

Good morning! I have a scout (141298825) who has been in my unit for two years now, and we have not been able to get him transferred into the pack. I took over as Cubmaster in January, so my complete knowledge of the history is fuzzy.

When he registered to be a scout, somehow his account was linked to another scout in a separate council (perhaps even state). We do not know whether this occurred during registration or whether the scout has similar details to the other scout and he was automatically linked. Either way, we have tried multiple ways to get the scout delinked and moved into our Pack (Pack 12, Orion District, Sam Houston Area Council, TX). We have tried using the transfer-in option in my.scouting, but we get the error that his profile doesn’t exist (I have screenshots from his parents showing he has an account). We tried creating a new account for him when his membership renewed, and that didn’t work. We even submitted a paper application, which has either gotten held up somewhere or did not work.

At this point, I do not know what to do. The scout has been participating for two years, has earned both associated ranks and multiple belt loops, and has attended service projects and campouts. Yet, he has nothing reported in ScoutBook.

I would appreciate any support from anyone with knowledge of how to resolve this. Thank you for your time.

@JasonCurley

The Scout’s registration expired 10/31/2025. At this point, the family should just complete a new application. When asked if he was previously in Scouting they need to answer yes.

If necessary the family should contact the council for assistance. Beyond the Council assisting to get him registered, there is nothing that can be done.

Thanks for the feedback. I hadn’t realized he didn’t re-register last year. Hopefully, we can get it sorted out.

@JasonCurley After you get the Scout re-registered, please ask your local council to submit a help ticket to the Scoutbook team. It looks like your Scout has the same name and date of birth as another Scout in a different council, but same state. The developers will need to separate them in Scoutbook.
