Continuing the discussion from Import Hiking, Camping and Service Hour Logs from TroopMasterto Scoutbook Plus:
Our Troop needs a way to upload our activities easily from TWH into SB+ to show our activities for hiking, camping and service hours. Manually entering them in two places is redundant and time consuming for volunteers. TWH will be able to do this, as I am sure other 3rd parties would if BSA would provide the API to make it possible. Thanks!
@AmandaLavino- I think you will need to address this with your council to lobby for such a task to be done.
Yeah almost all 3rd parties cut OFF their exports in the past to prevent units from moving to SB. If they had a tool to export the data, it then could be considered.
@donomanmcneil I have a note from Troopwebhost that would do it if BSA allowed the import. It has this function in other areas already. Just not in this one area.
Why the council, this seems to be a SB+ issue, generally?
The 3rd party developers that can upload advancements have the direct contacts with Developers in Scouting America - if they want that they can start the conversation.
The SUAC has exhausted its avenues to request an import of activities. The only option left is to get your Council to advocate for this change or to get TWH to request it through their contacts. Since they export advancement for import into Scoutbook Plus they have the necessary contact information to make a request.
