Neither our Key 3 nor our members are not being notified of expiring and expired memberships. How do we ensure that membership expiration notifications are getting sent?
You can find the status of all members on the Scoutbook Plus roster. Use the filter to display adults because only youth are displayed by default.
You will need to work with you council regarding notification to the Key 3 as the my.scouting team does not follow the forums and the SUAC does not have a way to submit issues to them. Bug reports must come from councils via a ticket to BSA Member Care.
I think part of the problem is Scoutbook+ doesn’t seem to report correctly. While I understand the renewal process is via my.scouting and notifications come from there.
I’ve filtered this roster via Eligible Renew. I know for a fact that these 2 have been renewed, I’ve seen the receipts.
When I renewed my son, he was due to expire 7-31. I renewed him on 7-27. It still showed Eligible to Renew until 7-31. On 8-1 it showed current.
If the emails don’t work and leaders can’t check the actual status of renewals in Scoutbook+, how are they supposed to make sure kids get renewed.
There is a known issue with the membership status but what we have seen is that it is showing Expired for some members that are actually current.
On the individuals that you believe renewed, have a Key 3 member check the my.scouting.org roster’s renewal page to make sure it says they are renewed and approved. We had several in my troop that were not yet approved so the eligible to renew status for them was correct.
Thank you. This has been reported to our Council help desk and we have started monitoring the roster each month. It’s just frustrating because the change to annual membership explicitly stated that members and Key 3 would get notified when it was time to renew.
