Leader Access to Edit Calendar

I have a leader that needs to be able to edit the unit’s calendar. She is listed in Scoutbook as Committee Member, Advancement Chair, Secretary, and Troop Admin, and still doesn’t have access. In my.scouting.org, she is a Committee Member. What do I have to do to get her calendar permission? (I am Committee Chair)

@JenniferGoodwin2 what is the users Member # (no names) and what unit?

I made everyone that needed Calendar edit access a “Unit Outdoor/Activities Chair.” Your Troop Admin role should do it, but if not, that one works. Typical IT caveat of turn it off and back on applies - make sure she logs out and back in after you add the role(s).

@JenniferGoodwin2 If she is your Advancement Chair, then I would recommend giving her the Unit Advancement Chair functional role at my.Scouting (using the Position Manager on the Roster page). She will need to wait for the overnight sync to run, but she should be able to access the calendar.

@JenniferGoodwin2 She had the Troop Admin role twice, which might cause issues. I have closed one of them.

Yes she was assigned the role yesterday by our Treasurer, who I don’t think has permission to add roles, so I did it again myself today.

@JenniferGoodwin2 My recommendation would be to designate her as Unit Advancement Chair (functional role) using the Position Manager at my.Scouting.

Advancement isn’t listed as having calendar edit rights. Does it?

@BrianCarter2 If you designate someone has Unit Advancement Chair at my.Scouting, then they will be an automatic unit Admin in Scoutbook the following day. Unit Admins should have access to the calendar. I am not sure why this user does not have access, but having the Troop Admin role twice in the same unit might have caused some issues.

Thanks. I didn’t know the UAC in Scouting led to Troop Admin in SB.

Would be nice “Unit Scheduler” was a separate functional role. Our troop’s fundraising chair asked me today to add a show and sell to the troop calendar. I’d rather just give her access to do it. I can also understand that some units might not want the Unit Fundraising Chair to have access.
