My troop doesn’t use Scoutbook, but I’m a merit badge counselor, and I’ve been doing virtual courses during the COVID period for scouts other than in my troop. I’ve tried using my My.Scouting login information to log in, and I can’t. After further research, it appears I have to have a Scoutbook login, then link the two. I can’t find a first time user link, or anything like that. It appears I have to have an invitation. My hope is to be able to update requirements for scouts, instead of emailing a spreadsheet to their leaders (which, I’ll likely do, anyway). Any help would be appreciated.
Login at Scoutbook using your my.scouting.org username and password.
After you log in at Scoutbook. go to:
My Dashboard → Administration → My Account
Then click on “Switch SSO Profile” if you need to link your Scoutbook account with your my.scouting.org account.
Has your council uploaded its Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) list to Scoutbook? If not, then you will need a Troop Admin from your troop to log in to Scoutbook and approve you as a MBC.

If you have an account at my.scouting.org (my.Scouting Tools - where you login to take YPT) then you should also have a Scoutbook account, because of single sign on (SSO).
If your troop doesn’t use Scoutbook, then the next step is to find out if your council has uploaded their MBC list to Scoutbook.
If your Council has not uploaded its MBC list, the easiest way is to log in to Scoutbook and try to add an MBC position to your profile. If you get an error to contact your Council, the Council uploaded its list. If it has not, check with the units of the Scouts you are counseling. Any one of them could add you to their roster as an MBC.
