Losing den in SB/roster

We kep losing our AOL den in the roster view in my.scouting. When CM tried to fix it and then I tried we ended up with 4 AOL dens on scoutbook but 1 or none in roster…it seems to change daily. we have all 6 returning scouts back in one of the SB AOL dens, but system will not let us put the leaders back in. Pack 534 Middle Tn Coincil Dan Montjoy 3554580

We now have 3 AOL dens, 4 of whih are empty, an AOL leader suddenly droppd from our rister, and every scout & leader with a yellow trianglr & asterix das not on unit roster. this are getting worse instead of better…lol

We need Scouting America Member IDs (no names) for the leaders & Scouts in order to investigate.

my id # is * and unit is Cub Pack 534 Ft Campbell, KyIf thee is a Scouting Ameria # associated I have no idea where to find that.

Moderator: MID removed. Should only be posted if there is no name associated with it in the post.

@GuyMontjoy what about an MID of a Leader that is gone or has a triangle

@GuyMontjoy

I found 3 Scoutbook accounts for you. I have merged these.

@GuyMontjoy

You can find the MIDs or SB IDs by clicking on the leaders and scouts with the :warning: in Scoutbook. We need to know if the numbers you post are MIDs or SB IDs.

@GuyMontjoy or Monday we could setup a screenshare to take a look

I provided my member id # already. I simply addd that as of a day ago, everyone in the pack now has a yellow triangle…just the latest issue. I assume you don’t need every members id#. I passed this issue theu our area exec and our council registrar but no reponse there yet. Our DE slit is vacant again so that is not an alternative.

It is not YOUR MID we need. We need MIDs of individuals where you see an issue. We only need a couple, not everyone.

The extra AOL dens have noone in them so I just need them removed. I added a den with scouts and a leader so the WL could post advencement after meetings. I just have no way to delete thWDL was there but dropped off last week. So I have 14472827 connected as a WL but not her husband 141275134. His registration was good thru 8/31/2025 as is hers.

My other challenge is that with a unit on a military post we iften have a 50-60% turnover due to AOL gtaduation, military transfers and deployments affecting leaders or their families. I can’t expect a mom with 4 scouts and a deployed husband whoisaso a full time teacher to stay a den leader. Having to wait for our council to process applications and transfers makes the admin of the unit even harder. As a retired army officer serving as CR/CC I am doing my best but I would gladly still pay for Scoutbook when I could enter scouts and leaders and not have this used as a membership tool controlled by others. I’m honest and register all active scouts and all the leaders I can recruit, but then they have to deal with issuer our council cannot or will not help resolve.

141275134 is a Scout in AOL Inactive Den - and the membership is not approved - so a Leader needs to approve it in Legacy SB

@GuyMontjoy

MID 14472827 has an invalid registration. An individual can’t be registered as an Assistant Den Leader, Unit Scouter Reserve and Webelos Leader in the same unit. You will need to contact your Council to get this cleared up. You can assign any leader to a den. I think part of the problem with this leader is you closed all of her leader positions in Scoutbook and left only the Den Admin position. I suggest going to her member page and removing the end date from one of the registered positions then going back and checking the I Approve checkbox and saving again.

I have 20 scouts in my inactive den. They are either AOL graduates who have already transferred to a troop or hopefully wil sson or they are scouts whose families have departed Ft Campbell and will hopefully transfer to new units this fall or scouts we have list cantact with . I had 4 in this den a month agi but recently itrepopulated to 20. I removed approval for those scouts who are gone or have graduated from cub scouts. I reandomly get scouts readded to my SB page as unassigned who had previously reparted and had expired registration…yet they reappear…not sure why.

141275134 is a scout eho c
ompleted Webelos and the family eas transferred to Delaware this summer..eo I moved him to inactive den until he finds a new unit. Hr has a current registration thru 30 Sep 2025, but I have no forwaeding address.

This leader started out as assistant dl, rhen became the Wl when the leaders swapped roles (previous DL had a deploying husband). I have no idea how she came up as reserve, but her only current job is AOl DL. When I move leader each summerthe system allows me to move leaders from their previous job, but then shows them in both positions. My only leaders whi should be in reserve are those who have departed or who are currenly deployed overseas for 6-12 months. can’t delete them in my.scouting of they are still registered.

@GuyMontjoy

You need to contact your Council. The system should not be generating multiple positions for a single adult, except possible the Charter Org Rep. The development team for my.scouting.org and other registration tools only accept issues submitted by Councils.

@GuyMontjoy

Scout MID 141275134 does not appear to have registered in another Council. I searched by last name and DOB and do not come up with anyone else. His current registrations ends 10/31/25 so he should drop off of your roster 12/31/25.

and my council is not responding…so Catch22 again…why are we paying registration fees for leaders we can’t keep in assigned dens? The more we pay for the priviledge the less support we receive. I have believed in this program and value what we can still do…but your response that only councils can submit issues is insatisfactory. Who can fix these ptoblems???

This scout is a non-ptoblem. His military father got orders and moved to Delaware. He may choose to join a unit there or not. We move departed scouts to our inactive den until their registratin expires or they complete a transfer. I wanted help removing 3 dens with no scouts. I am hoping our council registrar restores the one WL dropped from our roster…for no rason and our pack will renew him shortly.

Unfortunately, everyone on the boards here are volunteers, including the SUAC members. As Ed noted, only the council professional staff can submit registration issues to the team that manages those systems. None of the SUAC volunteers here have access to that team to report bugs, much less to resolve the problem. It’s not that the various volunteers here aren’t frustrated when the system malfunctions, not that they aren’t empathetic to your situation. It’s simply that they don’t have access to the folks who have authority to direct the relevant development team. Per the way Scouting America national set things up, issues with the registration system must be routed from the person reporting the issue, through the council staff, on to the national support staff, who (after some internal process, presumably) identify the issue and determine how to fix it. The council staff can track the report based on the MemberCare ticket they receive when they submit the issue.
