Lost parent connections in Scoutbook Plus migration

@TimothyCooper I have merged the mother’s usernames. From now on, she should log in with this username:

  • MothersfirstnameLastname

If she doesn’t remember her password, she should be able to reset it on the home page at my.Scouting.org. If she is unable to reset her password, the local council can reset it for her.

Unfortunately, her parent / child “Relationships” are messed up with her child with first initial S. Currently, she shows as both “Mother of” and “Son of” S. The local council will need to fix her relationships using their Registrar Tools.

@JenniferOlinger I am trying to figure out if this issue related to mine because you said a scout is showing as both “Mother of” and “son of”. If I should just create a new issue or if you know of an existing item I can report this on, please let me know.

I just ran the report showing a Roster Builder report with “relationships”.

I get some of each of the following:

  • Father of, Son of - — looks like this is bad? (similar with Mother of)
  • Father of - Guardian — this is ok? Or might this cause the problem? (same with Mother of - Guardian)
  • Father of - — I assume this is ok? Why do some scouts have no Guardian? Or why do they have a Guardian?

I’ve already spoken to council about my issue but they are not aware of anything and are trying to help but I don’t know what to provide.

I have several parents who have just let me know that they cannot access the permission slip or rsvp information for their scout for our events.

  • One says she was able to go back several months and see rsvp info but not on current events. Has this on the report “Mother of - Guardian”
  • One, the council says that she has multiple logins and they will try to clean that up - assuming that will help. But I have no idea how many others in my unit also have this problem. has this on the report “Mother of - Guardian”
  • If I switch my profile to a parent instead of CC, I cannot see the permission slips or rsvp info for the upcoming event. For past events, I can see 5 adults on the rsvp - no scouts. (As CC, I can see what I need to.) In the report, I have 2 of this “Mother of, Son of -” and 2 of "Mother of - " for one of my kids and 1 instance of both for my other kid.
  • Another parent was one position and then moved to another position, feels he lost his permissions in the transfer. He and his kids have been around for awhile so I would not imagine he has extra logins causing problems. His look like this “Father of -”

@ChristineSchlosser your council registrar would be able to clean up relationships like that for you

Thanks but that doesn’t help unless I dump my whole roster off with council and ask them to go through everything because I don’t actually know how many parents this is affecting.. How do I narrow down where the problems might exist - specifically which of the 3 relationships above are good and which are bad

In SB+ (as mentioned above) - go to Reports > + New Report > Roster Report > add all scouts and add PG Relationship checkbox - that will show who is in relationships
