Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have a paper application for a Scout due to the Scout receiving scholarships.
So the parents could immediately start getting emails, I manually added the Scout to Scoutbook because it will take some time for the paper application to get processed by Council.
However, the scout was added to the wrong den. I can’t seem to reassign him. When I go to Scoutbook and select Reassign Den, it redirects me to Scoutbook Plus. Then when I go to edit den in Scoutbook Plus, that scout is not an option to delete from a den or add to a den. I’m stuck as to what to do.
It is probably cause the scout is not official and has no BSA Member number - it will be a waiting game - Scoutbook + relies heavily of true registrations
Thanks Donovan. That means the leaders will have to manually, separately email that Scout’s parents any updates unless I’m missing some other way to account for them. I’ve heard it can take a long time for paper applications to be processed.
With a fully filled out app, our registrar will take them electronically and can use funds in our unit account. She has been awesome about entering them the next day and they will show up in the system fully in 24-36 hours.
It all depends on council staffing and workload. The system, though, really updates fast once entered.
